This guide outlines an efficient method for farming high-tier loot and candy during Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost 2025 by using the newly introduced Red Rumble activity with a well-coordinated fireteam.

Red Rumble Loot Farming Method

  • Red Rumble Basics: A six-player, free-for-all PvP mode, featuring roaming Headless One bosses that drop motes, special and heavy ammo, and occasionally a Reaper Scythe relic.

  • Scoring System: Points are awarded for player kills or by collecting motes dropped from the Headless One (each mote counts as one point). Gathering motes quickly accumulates points.

  • Fireteam Coordination:

    • Players can queue into Red Rumble as a full six-person fireteam, which allows for organized teamwork even though the mode is technically free-for-all.

    • Designate one member as the primary "points getter" or mote collector; all players focus their damage on the Headless One, then allow the designated player to collect as many motes as possible.

  • Rapid Game Completion:

    • Each Headless One typically drops 15–18 motes; one player can reach the 30-point maximum (and end the match) with just two boss kills if all motes are collected.

    • Matches can be finished in about two minutes through this strategy, significantly speeding up loot farming.

  • Loot Benefits for All Players:

    • All players, even those lower on the scoreboard, receive event loot that is one tier above standard drops (+1 tier, similar to the Solstice event).

    • The loot tier also depends on your power level (e.g., normally getting tier 3 rewards at 300+ will instead provide tier 4 during the event).

  • Optimizing Rewards:

    • Each team member should get 1–3 kills per match to ensure qualification for better loot; required kills may vary depending on character power.

    • Rotate the role of mote collector each match to distribute the top-tier (tier 5) rewards more evenly among the group.

    • If the points getter does not reach 30 points from motes alone, teammates should deliberately allow themselves to be killed by the scorer to help reach the cap and end the match faster.

    • Sometimes, if enough motes are collected from the first Headless One, farming teammates for points can end the match even more quickly—possibly in as little as 90 seconds.

  • Candy Farming:

    • Always wear a Festival mask during runs for significant bonus candy (about 150–200 candy per match).

Fireteam and Matchmaking Tips

  • Fireteam Size: Best results with a six-person fireteam for full control, but the method can still be effective with three or four players by encouraging cooperation with solo queue members in the lobby.

  • Teamwork Essentials:

    • Coordinate efforts to focus DPS on the Headless One and control who collects motes and scores extra kills.

    • Rotate key roles, especially the mote collector, as part of an organized approach for fairness.

    • Good communication and pre-game planning maximize efficiency and keep match times low.

Recommendations / Advice

  • Always wear a Festival event mask to maximize candy rewards.

  • Assign and rotate the points getter/mote collector role each match to allow everyone a chance at high-tier loot.

  • Communicate clearly and assign roles before each game starts for the best results.

  • If you’re missing a full fireteam, try cooperating with other players in matchmaking to accelerate farming.

  • Take advantage of the boss drops—gather motes efficiently and supplement points with player kills if necessary.

Action Items

  • All Fireteam Members:

    • Coordinate before each match to select the points getter.

    • Ensure everyone gets 1–3 player kills per match to qualify for the best loot possible.

    • Wear Festival masks in every run for candy bonuses.

  • Fireteam Leader:

    • Organize role rotation, especially for mote collection, after each match to ensure fair distribution of high-tier rewards.

    • Remind the team to assist the primary scorer in reaching 30 points as rapidly as possible.

Questions / Follow-Ups

  • How many kills are necessary at various power levels for optimal event loot rewards?

  • Will this method remain effective if Bungie changes matchmaking rules or reward distribution in the future?

What is up guys, it's your boy Still Sick Cacus. Your boy's going through it, okay? But today, we have a quick video showcasing a method you can use to farm the new loot from the Festival of the Lost 2025 event that has just gone live within Destiny 2, fast and efficiently as possible.

You're gonna be swimming in Festival of the Lost loot. And so, let's get started. Now, this method is going to involve one of the two new activities added to Destiny 2 with Festival of the Lost 2025, specifically Red Rumble. So, this is a play on the rumble PvP game mode. It's a max of six players and and it's free-for-all, so everyone versus everyone.

However, there's gonna be a big PvE boss enemy, the Headless one, that roams around the map. If you damage this enemy, as you can see, they're gonna drop special and heavy ammo, along with sometimes a Reaper Scythe relic, and motes. So these motes are incredibly important.

Turns out that to win in Red Rumble, you can either get points by killing other players just like normal Rumble or by picking up these motes. Each mote counts as one point, aka one kill. So if you find the Headless One boss and DPS the crap out of this guy, they're going to drop actually a ton of motes. And you can basically, if you pick them all up, you get the equivalent of like, you know, 10 kills, maybe more.

So that is kind of the basis of this method because it turns out for whatever reason, Red Rumble lets you matchmake with a fireteam. So as you can see right here, you can get a full six-man fireteam together, go into Red Rumble, and you're just in there with a squad of people who are not competing against each other, but rather... Everyone is working as a team and here's what it lets you do.

First of all, you need to designate one person as the points getter, the motes picker upper guy, right? Then when the headless one spawns, everyone goes together and DPSs the crap out out of this boss. They're gonna spit out motes and the designated points getter is going to try to pick up as many of those motes as possible. That's what you see me do in the background gameplay.

It turns out the headless ones will drop so many motes, they're often gonna drop over 15 motes. Like, I think I've gotten up to like 18 motes from one single headless one kill. And so... What that means is that with two headless one kills, if one person is picking up all the motes, they're going to have enough points to get the 30 points maximum to instantly end the game. And so therefore, you're able to complete Red Rum Bull activities in like two minutes a run.

Seriously, that is exactly what you're seeing in the background gameplay. Everyone gangs up on the headless one, we DPS it, I pick up all the motes, the next headless one spawns, DPS it, I pick up all the motes, and then often, that's just enough to end the game two minutes in and out tier five rewards. Now you might be thinking, well, wait a minute.

Of course you are getting tier five rewards because you're getting all the points. Like the game thinks you're getting the best performance of your life and giving you all these performance based tier five rewards from a PVP game mode. What about the other people? Well, it turns out that even the people you're seeing here at the bottom of the scoreboard were also getting tier 5 loot.

Now, the exact tier is obviously going to depend on your overall power level, but remember guys, For all Festival of the Lost loot drops, they're dropping at +1 tier than normal, just like Solstice. So if you're in the 300s, you're normally getting tier 3 loot, you're gonna be getting tier 4 Festival of the Lost loot. And if you're anywhere in the 400s, and you're normally getting tier fours, your festival loot is gonna be tier five, even with extremely minimal effort.

And so what we ended up doing is that on the start of these Red Rumble games, everyone ensured that they just got one to three kills. The exact number of kills you need will depend on your level. It's something you're just going to have to play around with.

But with everyone getting about, again, one to three kills, like two kills, one kill each, they were still, and they're in the low 400s, they were still having the game end. They're sitting there with two kills and in two minutes, they would get tier four normal crucible loot, but their festival of the lost loot would be tier five. And obviously that's what we're mainly going for, those tier 5 gun burns, etc. Now, if you also want to farm like crucible loot, you can simply switch up who the moat grabber is, right? Like just alternate who's grabbing all the moats, who's winning the game every match so that you spread around all those tier 5s.

Because if you are the person who's grabbing all the moats, it's going to give you like an A+, right? Because your performance is just crazy. However, there's something very important to keep in mind that could make this go even more efficiently and that is like sometimes guys when you're going after the moats they're gonna be flying all around the map as you damage this guy and You try to go over them and there's a lot of explosions and the bosses may be still alive and damaging you you might die and you don't get all the moats you need maybe you only get 10 for the first one and and then you get the second boss kill and you don't quite have 30, remember you can supplement those points by just killing everyone else, right? You're going in with a six man fire team. Everyone is on the same team.

Simply kill all your other friends for the one points guy to get to that 30 points maximum as quickly as possible. And again, end the game as quickly as possible, right? With everyone else only requiring one, two or three kills, like that is it.

And so that means that if you have a very efficient first headless one kill and you get like 18 modes, you could maybe just start farming your teammates, right? And you could end the game before the second headless one even spawns. You could end the game like a a minute and a half in, which is crazy, crazy fast. Tier five festival loot every minute and a half to two minutes. Like that is what this method is gonna do.

And on top of that, remember, make sure you are wearing a mask because if you are, you're gonna get candy every time you complete these runs as well. So tier five loot and candy around, you know, 150 to 200 candy. every two minutes, maybe even a minute and a half. Yeah, it's pretty darn efficient. The only thing you do require is, again, a six-man fireteam.

And honestly, even if you have less than that, you have a three-man fireteam, a four-man fireteam, you might even be able to convince the other people in your lobby to help you do this method. Or at least, you know, four people all together. If one person is picking up all the modes, you can still, you know, by working as a team, end these Red Rumble games as quickly as possible and just get everyone their loot so fast. Guys, that is awesome. It for the video.
