What is up guys, it's your boy Rick Kakas and today we have the ultimate guide for the dawning 2024 event which has just gone live within Destiny 2, showcasing everything you need to know for how this event works as well as a ton of different tips for how to farm the absolute crap out of the resources and ingredients you need and get those sweet new weapons. And so, let's get started. But just before we do...

definitely check it out. All right, now the first thing you need to do is head to the tower and talk to Eva Levante. She will give you the first of actually multiple dawning quests. And importantly, she will give you the Eva's Holiday Oven.

Now this is going to be accessible in your quest tab, and this is going to be the main thing you're interacting with for the duration of this event. Now she's also going to give you the resources you need to make your first cookie. So you're going to open...

your holiday oven, and you can make a Galar Doodle. And then you're going to take this Galar Doodle to Zavala. You give it to him. He's going to give you a gift in return.

You head back to Evil Levante and hand that in to progress the quest line. Now, importantly, guys, when you're doing this, it's then going to ask you to go and open your event tab and click on some stuff. We have a bit of a situation going on. So.

What happened is, as you can see right here, when the donning initially launched, you could actually upgrade the event card for free. So a ton of people were doing this. We thought, is this maybe a Christmas miracle?

Is Bungie doing something awesome? Well, as you can see from this tweet from the official Destiny 2 team, uh, no, it was just a glitch. And unfortunately, they are kind of pausing the event card for now. And if you did acquire the upgrade, you'll have to reacquire it for a thousand silver if you want access to it again once they fix this.

But- That aside, guys, you're going to complete the first event challenge to progress the quest, and then you have to buy the Merry Maker upgrade from Eva Levante, and then, guys, you're going to get two different quests. So... As you can see here, the first one is just going to be baking a bunch of different cookies for a bunch of different NPCs. And the end reward is going to be a code for something in the Bungie store.

Now, you can absolutely do this, but this is not the most efficient way to farm dawning rewards. It's much better to focus on a singular cookie, and we'll talk about what cookie is actually the best, and then just make a ton of that cookie. and spam it to a singular NPC to get a bunch of gifts in return that you can turn into those limited time dawning weapons to get their god rolls.

Now importantly, before you spend a bunch of time doing that, you also need the required resources to not only make the cookies, but also to buy more upgrades from Eva Levante. As you can see, there's actually upgrades that will not only let you focus these dawning weapons, but also will make these dawning weapons spawn with multiple perks, which is going to make your farm significantly easier. So, to do all that, guys, you're going to need, first of all, ingredients and essence.

Now, this is what is required to make the different cookies. And in the background gameplay right now, I'm going to be showing you guys all of the different cookie recipes. And... also the different ingredients in terms of the green ingredients. And so the green ingredients are going to be what comes from specific enemy types.

Like getting Vex milk, you kill Vex. Getting Taken butter, you kill Taken, right? And then the blue ingredients, guys, these are going to be by performing certain actions or using certain things when you're getting those kills.

So personal touch is melee kills. Null taste comes from getting void kills. So again, I'm going to be kind of going over them quickly in the background gameplay.

Obviously, like pause if you need specific information on the ingredients or the recipes. But this is actually a huge tip here. There's only one new cookie recipe this year. And it's for Nimbus on Neomuna. You 100% want to make this cookie before any other cookie.

Now, why is that? Well, since this is the only new cookie. cookie, the only new recipe, once you actually craft and then deliver this cookie to Nimbus, as you can see, it will unlock the ability, if you have every other recipe from previous years, to masterwork your oven. And doing so will lower the amount of essence you need from 15 down to 10. So again, if you can just make this cookie, if you can do the cookie recipes you don't have, That is going to let you masterwork your oven and that will make farming way, way easier.

So to make the Neo Moon Pie, you will need Vex Milk from Killing Vex, Dark Frosting from using a Darkness Weapon, and then Essence of Dawning. Now, Essence of Dawning comes from completing activities. And this is where we get into the part about how to farm the absolute crap out of Essence of Dawning because you will need a lot to be baking all these cookies. So if you can get one friend to help you, by far the most efficient method is going to be getting the checkpoint from the first campaign mission from Lightfall called First Contact. And when you get to this room here, the room you're seeing in the background gameplay, you essentially leave, like you save that checkpoint, and then you have one person constantly loading in on this checkpoint and then...

switching characters the other person obviously loads in on them and then as you can see right here you simply activate these cabal pods while the person who has the checkpoint like loads back in on a different character and then as long as that alt character for that person also has uh the required quest steps to be getting essence of dawning so they need to do the first part of the dawning quest as well as you can see by simply loading down here you get essence of dawning now it pops up very quickly but it counts as a completed activity. So you can simply load back in, head down the drop pods, get Essence of Dawning, load back in, drop pods, Dawning. If you load back in, drop pod Essence.

Like you can cycle through this reward incredibly, incredibly fast. So again, you just need one more person with the checkpoint and you're good to go. Now, the Shattered Throne final boss checkpoint should work here as well.

So you can simply go... to the Destiny 2 checkpoint website, or there's multiple websites that offer checkpoints. And again, you just need one more person to help like load in on this checkpoint and then switch characters.

And you can farm the final boss of the Shattered Throne as well. But if you're solo, what I would recommend is, well, essentially you're looking for the quickest activity you can farm. So honestly, Team Scorched is live right now.

And this is a fairly quick activity. Like it's gonna be over in often around the same time. eight minutes or less and compared to some strikes out there that is very fast and you will get you know around 15 to 17 essence of dawning for that completion now importantly guys another benefit of team scorched is that you can use your boons so this is something that is rewarded to you right off the bat and if you pop one then everyone on your team will actually get a gift at the end of a match so if you have a full fire team of like six people You can simply, you know, if you're in PvP or Gambit or Strikes or whatever, you can take turns like one person pops their boon for each different match. And then at the end, everyone on the team should be getting gifts. So that is a good way to kind of farm gifts as well, especially as this event goes on and everyone has more of these boons.

But speaking about PvP, in case you're wondering, we did try private matches and unfortunately, they didn't give us any essence. or any rewards from those boons. So just keep that in mind.

But if you don't want to do PvP and you're okay with a little bit of mind-numbing farming, well, a very easy method to farm Essence of Dawning is by loading in to the Trostland in the EDZ and going to this particular Lost Sector. As you can see right here, like you can just gun it through, and this Lost Sector is tiny, so you can gun through the Lost Sector, kill the boss super quickly. You know, if you're on Titan, for example, one consecration just...

nukes this guy grab the chest there's three essence of dawning and you're out you can literally do this in about 45 seconds to a minute maybe even faster if you're being really efficient and so that means if you do 10 of these in uh you know 10 minutes that's 30 essence of dawning you're gonna get like i said 17 ish essence of dawning for potentially a 15 minute strike so you This is actually quite efficient. It's kind of boring, but it will be incredibly easy, and it will be a very efficient way to get Essence of Dawning solo. So that's how to farm Essence of Dawning, but what about ingredients? Well, obviously, the best farming method is going to change depending on the ingredient.

If you're looking for Ethercane, you need Fallen, so you need something with a lot of Fallen. But if you don't care, if you're just trying to bake cookies as fast as possible, I think the best cookie to farm... in the entire game is going to be the dark chocolate chip or dark chocolate motes or whatever for the drifter now this needs taken butter and null taste so what this means is that you can load into shiro chi again just by going to a checkpoint website or by using the wish wall you can just get there completely solo and once you're in there just put on the graviton lance null taste is from void Taken Butters from Taken, as you can see right here by how many ingredients are popping up on my screen, you get them absurdly fast. And then you can just keep making Drifter's Cookie like over and over again, as long as you have the Taken Essence or Dawning Essence, and that's going to let you just get a ton of gifts in return.

Now, you're also going to notice while I'm farming this, you have Dawning Spirit popping up as well. Now, this is the other very important thing you're going to need. How do you farm Dawning Spirit? Well, normally, you're going to get it from the bounties, right?

The bounties from Eva Levante will give you Dawning Spirit. And every time you give a cookie to an NPC, you will also get Dawning Spirit. So if you do like these two other farms, right? Like if you farm the crap out of First Contact, get a bunch of Essence. Then go to Shiro-Chi, farm the crap out of a bunch of ingredients, bake, you know, 50 cookies, give them all to the Drifter.

You're also just going to get a crap ton of Dawning Spirit right there as you are getting your gifts from Drifter. However, there's another absolutely massive tip here, guys. If you have access to the Starfarer 7M ship, and it needs to be this ship.

I think this was from like season 12 from 2020. It- actually has a unique perk spirit of the season that gives you a chance to get dawning spirit whenever you earn an ingredient so as you're doing that null taste and taken butter farm in shiro chi you're also actually getting dawning spirit so if you can dredge this out of your collections tab if you do have this then that is going to be a massive boost to the amount of dawning spirit you're actually getting If you don't have this, again, use the other two farms and just giving, you know, 50 cookies to the drifter will get you a ton of dawning spirit as well. Now, my last tip here, guys, when it comes to the dawning is in terms of the upgrades, very importantly, as you can see, you can actually choose what upgrades you want, but you want to be very wary of the order you're getting these upgrades because the upgrade to unlock individual focusing. is not actually what you want, right? Unless you're kind of only going for the Glacier Clasm, because it's actually only going to give you the access to the weapons you've already gotten. Which means if you get the specific farming upgrade, you will not be able to target focus the brand new linear fusion rifle, right?

Because you haven't gotten it yet. So if you are interested in getting that new linear, make sure to buy the upgrade as you can see here. that will let you focus the engrams, that will give you any random weapon. And then once you get the first drop of that linear, then you can go and upgrade the specific target focusing to focus that weapon. But just be aware of that.

If you get target focusing first, It will actually be impossible for you to get that linear from focusing. You'll have to actually then go and get the engram one later and get it that way, right? So just a fair warning there.

In any event, guys, that is going to be how the donning works, all the different ingredients, all the different cookie recipes, and some farming techniques to help you guys out.
