Destiny 2 Edge of Fate Expansion Summary

what's up guys houndish here and today we're jumping in with more Destiny 2 news and updates and this week of course it follows Bungie's first live reveal since the announcement for Edge of Fate where they've gone into a lot more detail about a bunch of content that we're getting in the expansion some of that actually meant a better look at a little bit of Kepler and expansion content specifically as Bungie had been fairly quiet on that front we'll round up some additional things about that today as well as some clarification from Bungie with questions from the community coming out of that live stream otherwise Bungie give us extra details about some changes that are coming in the expansion clarify some mistakes they made with previous announcements and we've got a few other things to round up in the video today so if you guys find this one useful then do us a massive favor and hit subscribe we'll have a lot more Edge of Fate stuff to discuss in the coming weeks right up until the launch keep it locked and loaded for that but otherwise let's get into it we'll start with a couple of small updates from Bungie the D2 team said "We've updated the twid section about the combination blow changes coming with Edge of Fate and combination blow will work with Tempest Strike in PvE at full effect not with Ascension." So worth clarifying that as obviously that was incorrect in the original version of the TWAB last week so bear it in mind and I'll keep you posted as we get more blog posts later on this week another quick mention though following on from the stream DMG had said there have been a lot of questions and not enough time to answer them but again we can expect blog content over the next few weeks up until launch so hopefully for any items which players still have questions about we'll get further clarity as Bungie drop more updates soon moving on worth a quick mention here since we skipped the vendor reset yesterday thanks to Bungie's live stream the Emissary does have the Arbalist as well as Polaris Lands featured now which can be purchased for 500 non manifolds bungie had said the emissary will start featuring exotics on a weekly basis i think others that will be included are Outbreak Perfected Whisper of the Worm even World Line Zero so that is a good catch-up mechanic if anyone needs them the only other real mentions for the Eververse store this week there is the Times Inlay ornament for Vex Mythiclast that's a new ornament for this episode not really sure how I even feel about that one but nonetheless if you want it you can add it to collections otherwise following on from Bungie's live reveal just yesterday players have noticed and pointed out Maya Sunundes the conductor from back in episode Echo was actually spotted in the new Mysteries of Kepler trailer that Bungie shared yesterday so there's a boss area with all those kind of vex walls closed off and Maya Sunundesh in fact numerous copies of Myaunderesh are floating around in the back of the room so obviously another key character for Edge of Fate there by the looks of things and perhaps is one of the things that Bungie was setting up with episode echoes it was nice to get that Kepler trailer to see a little bit more of the destination although Bungie are putting a lot of focus on Mata Spark and the Kepler abilities but they showed us a bunch of upgrades that we'll be able to get for these abilities too so over time we'll be able to improve these and there are things like matter spark 2 to build a charge by collecting blast cores and stunning combatants and with a full charge we can create a blast of energy disabling shields on some combatants and objects then there's the Rosetta ability decipher Ionian characters allowing interfacing with Aonian devices and ciphers understanding basic words and concepts in Aonian allowing for a greater range of linguistic interfacing with Ionian devices and ciphers obviously linked to secrets on the destination but otherwise there are relocator upgrades like relocator 2 relocator allows us to shoot rotatable relays to change their alignment altering the path of relocator launcher shots teleportation applies a void overshield and hidden combatants with the relocator launcher also affects their gravity and final blows will spawn void seekers so kind of cool that they have upgrades the one thing I'd say still following Bungie's live stream in general is I'm curious what is the end game on Kepler obviously I don't want it totally spoiled but we're still left with just tons of questions about it is it a matchmade destination will there be world events or activities or is it purely going to be a campaign that we can rerun on different difficulty levels to unlock tier five loot things like that if there is more to Kepler Bungie are definitely underelling it right now obviously I hope that's the case and yeah in terms of general feedback for the stream one of the most disappointing things for players in general is that it kind of regurgitates a lot of information that we already had from content creator videos as opposed to showing us a bunch of new stuff there were bits of clarification in there and new things like the crossbow which is cool but in a lot of ways we were kind of retreading over stuff that we've already seen even if Bungie did show off a new activity on Kepler when they were using the weapons for instance that would have at least generated a bit more intrigue but at this point I'm curious why Bungie are not showing more of that kind of activity content it makes you wonder what's there I suppose onto a little bit of feedback from that live stream clarity OnX made a comment about the enhancement for incandescent that we can see here not actually explaining itself in the tool tip but instead it just says provides a unique perk benefit dmg essentially said the reason for this is that we showed a bit of how we're pulling more stats descriptions and info into the game but some things will still leave a bit for you to discover through gameplay and specifically this is a vague description invoking try me I do something more rare and difficult to define which if that's true I guess there's nothing specifically wrong with that otherwise a bit of focus on that stream was of course for the crossbow bungie were using it in Sabath and Spire which they're obviously going to be bringing back via the portal again some folks had an issue with seeing that saying "Of course we're getting reskinned or reprised content for an expansion." Of course Sabath and Spire isn't actually part of the expansion and assuming we get a good expansion I wouldn't mind having playlists that bring some of these other things back you know especially on a rotational basis with upgraded rewards that's fine as a sort of cherry on top and extra stuff to do in general again we come back to the problem where Bungie haven't shown off a lot of what Edge of Fate itself is actually about but for the crossbow itself Bungie describes that crossbow bolts can be picked up again out of your enemies after being shot technically making it an infinite ammo weapon and that there are different types of bolt ammo the explosive bolt will fire and then explode and the serrated one will deal damage when it enters a target but again can be pulled out of an enemy and will deal additional damage there was another minor fact that crossbows will count as a bow when it comes to bounties otherwise following on from the reveal we've seen a lot of discussions kind of continuing on from where we were you know whether it's the seasonal bonuses all that kind of stuff i've shared my thoughts on a lot of that personally i guess my overall request for Bungie would be that on the next live reveal if there is more that they can show on Kepler whether it's a new activity events a bit of info about the actual end game world tiers maybe even some details about how we'll get tier five loot from the new content specifically it might make players feel a bit more positive in general about Edge of Fate specifically cuz that's kind of currently the context which is missing around a lot of the other sort of busy work and changes that Bungie are outlining with Gear so give me your thoughts below and hopefully Bungie can enlighten us a bit more soon a final thing to mention here regarding pre-order bonuses for Edge of Fate bungie do clarify how some of that stuff will work of course there are the current pre-order bonuses the Anissotropic shell and external sights emblem if you have pre-ordered and not collected those they should be available at the special deliveries chaos in the tower or at Shawhan in the cosmo drrome obviously for the year of prophecy pre-order bonuses though that includes the same as the edge of fate ones but also will include pre-order bonuses for renegades in December specifically what we'll get from those is currently redacted looks like it will be an emblem as well as an exotic ship though then the ultimate edition of Year of Prophecy of course includes Edge of Fate and its campaign the same for Renegades access to the new raid and dungeon content that will come out this year and then one active reward pass that'll be the one that opens up as we head into Edge of Fate and three general reward passes which will be I'm guessing the ones that we get throughout the course of the year the article here does highlight that players may need to install certain updates to get all of these existing items it also suggests that the currently active season at the time of first login after purchase is the one that the active reward pass goes to which is a bit weird if it's referencing the heresy reward pass at the minute but there will be secret stashes as part of the ultimate edition here with currency packs containing one exotic cosmetic an exotic cipher two ascendant alloys three ascendant shards and they'll be delivered with each seasonal release so if you're curious about any of the itemization there I'll link the article down below but for today guys that's what we have to talk about again I'll keep you up to date when Bungie give us further details we could get midweek blog posts which are additional to the twins so if you want to get all of the Edge of Fate news as soon as it drops hit subscribe and the notification bell so that you don't miss out on anything as always share your thoughts on what we've discussed today down in the comment section and a rating also helps us out on the channel if you have enjoyed the video otherwise though cheers for watching and I hope you guys have an awesome day heat hey Heat
