Destiny 2 Year of Prophecy Timeline

so heading into the next few weeks and months as we enter into Year of Prophecy some of you guys may be wondering exactly when are we going to get various different pieces of content And Bungie have outlined the major dates for Year of Prophecy But there have been a few road map updates between the original reveal and now changes to certain events and pieces of content that we'll get at the start of Edge of Fate but also the roll out for various events like Iron Banner Arms Week of course the new raid summer events like the Solstice of Heroes and major updates like the one that we'll get in September returning us to the Plague Lands So in this video we're going to break down all of the very important dates for the next few months all the way up till October and December with events like Festival of the Lost and ultimately the launch of the Renegades expansion So hopefully this video will help out if you're curious about those dates But firstly guys today's video is sponsored by one titles If you want to check it out be sure to follow the links below Use code Houndish in the store And shout out to Elorado for sponsoring the video today First let's touch on pre-Eedge of Fate stuff Couple of quick mentions For the week of July 1st we'll be able to pick up the Lotus Eater as the Nightfall weapon That'll be its final time appearing as an adept weapon in its current form And at the end of that week we'll also get Shaora's wrath dropping from Trials of Osiris Additionally for July 1st though Bungie will introduce the Nonory Engram that can drop a bunch of cosmetic items from Eververse via the Emissary and the Ride of the Nine event Those will be able to be purchased for Nonory Manifolds Plus on the subject of Edge of Fate July 1st we'll see another Bungie dev reveal where they'll talk about the power systems the portal and who knows hopefully they'll give us a better look at some of the actual DLC content But then for the very final week before Edge of Fate there will be what Bungie have referred to as the loot palooa for right of the nine with some massive drop rate boosts for all of the weapons and things dropping from the dungeon So those are just a few items that we'll get ahead of the expansion itself Then as we move to July 15th of course that is the date where Edge of Fate actually drops There are various bits of content we'll discover there Much of it of course is under wraps at the moment Bungie did give us an update though and said that they've decided to make the shooting range available on day one So the original plan was to launch it 3 weeks after the expansion but Bungie have decided to give it us alongside Edge of Fate which especially will be useful if you want to damage test things get ready with your gear for the raid or whatever it may be in that initial launch phase for the expansion Then at the end of the first week July 19th is when we'll get the new raid So this will be a Saturday raid launch for a change It gives us that short period of time really to actually get ready for it Otherwise given that it is a raid of course it's very secret at the moment The next most important date with anything specific after the raid though will be the 1st of August which is when Trials of Osiris will return for the first time after the expansion So just a couple of weeks after the main drop Trials will return with new weapons and armor which will mean the first opportunities to earn tiered rewards from Trials And based on what Bungie said about shooting range and arms week it will be 3 weeks after the launch of Edge of Bait which should land us with the weekly reset for August 5th So best we can tell that's when the first Arms Week event will actually be And Bungie have said that it's a week-long event focused on a single weapon archetype launching alongside that new area in the tower But of course they've bought the shooting range forward to the launch of Edge of Fate So importantly the event part is expected to drop on the 5th of August and we've seen a few weapons which appear to be linked with Arms Week As for what we'll get on that first event given that one weapon will be focused each time we will simply have to wait and see Another component we're expecting in August though is the return of Solstice of Heroes We know it's definitely coming back this year as Bungie have shared a new ocean themed holof foil weapon and these will come with a cool sort of animation on the weapon itself and of course opportunities to earn them at tier five So the Air Tide Apex SMG which is a lightweight frame solar submachine gun will be the first weapon for Solstice this year I'm guessing there'll probably be updates to previous year's Solstice weapons too Plus Solstice is expected to be using the event home system which will also be applied to other major events like Iron Banner and even Arms Week which will be dropping shortly before Solstice Once that's out of the way though we'll get to September 9th when a couple of different things will happen So the first part is that there'll be a major update to the game called Ash and Iron But immediately before we get to that Bungie have said we'll actually get a big reveal for Renegades the expansion that'll be dropping in December So there'll be a live stream straight ahead of the weekly reset And we'll finally get more details about that Star Wars themed expansion And then later in that day we'll be able to play Ash and Iron where we return to the Plaglands and pick up where Edge of Fate leaves off Bungie have outlined there'll be a new activity called reclaim which I guess thematically means that we'll be reclaiming parts of the plaglands and perhaps sver or plaguel lands in general will be the sort of theme for that update but ash and iron will also include a new exotic mission and new legendary gear when it drops on September 9th So I'm looking forward to seeing what that will be all about Beyond that though Iron Banner will also return updated during the Ash and Iron phase So Bungie say Iron Banner will go on hiatus between now and then but Saladin will be bringing the PVP game mode back to the tower in September following on from Ash and Iron So once the Ash and Iron update is here September through to December we'll continue to see iron banners arms week events additions like heavy metal and of course Festival of the Lost which will return in October of 2025 And we already know what Bungie are targeting for the armor sets for this year as there was a community vote for them So you can see the respective armor sets on screen right there Once Festival of the Lost has been and gone though I'd anticipate we'll probably get a quiet month or so where most of the focus is talking about changes and new content that is coming in Renegades And of course that will drop on December 2nd And Bungie have said Renegades the second expansion of the year is inspired by the legendary Star Wars universe merging Destiny's distinctive storytelling and gameplay with themes and elements drawn from the iconic sci-fi franchise They add that Renegades will be a definitive Destiny expansion with a narrative integral to the Fate saga while also suffused with inspiration from and homage to Star Wars specifically introducing new characters innovative activities and evolved mechanics designed to surprise players So that's going to be very interesting in itself once we actually get to it And of course the reveal that will actually happen a couple of months ahead of that drop Something additional we know that will come alongside Renegades is a vault space upgrade So Bungie have said there will be additional vault space and quality of life features planned for Renegades but otherwise in terms of system specifics or actual content that's all we know for the moment Beyond that we can expect the Dawning to drop the same month as Renegades perhaps a couple of weeks later Plus Bungie will cycle through Trials Iron Banner Arms Week potentially things like heavy metal and it will ultimately lead us up to the 3rd of March 2026 which is going to be the final major update of the year called Shadow and Order So that's essentially the pipeline as we know it right now One final thing to mention though there will be a rewards pass available with every major update So that'll include Edge of Fate itself Ash and Iron in September and then Renegades in December and Shadow and Order in March So Bungie say each of the four reward passes for the year will cost 1,000 silver when purchased standalone in Eververse Of course if you own the collector's edition or the full year of prophecy and all of the content drops those will be included And alternatively given that major updates are actually free you could opt to buy each expansion or one of the expansions separately and then purchase reward passes on an individual basis as well if you want to So there we go That's the year ahead Basically the one thing I personally hope beyond March is that if we're getting more expansion content in 2026 as Bungie have said we will be we can expect the first expansion to drop sometime around the start of summer Again I just hope that they can give us a bit more of a preview in terms of what the specific dates and structure will look like ahead of time as obviously even the Edge of Fate reveal was relatively late for a marketing cycle when we first got that info in May essentially 2 months before it drops Hopefully Bungie can at least give us dates a bit earlier than that next time around but we will have to wait and see Share your thoughts on any of the stuff coming up in the next few months guys And once again thanks to our sponsor Elorado If you want to save on silver in Destiny 2 or unlocks in a bunch of supported games you can use code Houndish in the store to make some great savings So don't forget to hit the link for that below If you found the video
