This update covers current Destiny 2 news, including Trials of Osiris bugs, the Infinite Fletcher Storm bug for Strand Titans, upcoming events like Heavy Metal, weapon drops, and Bungie's future plans for power grind adjustments.
Trials of Osiris Updates and Issues
Bug causing Lighthouse chest rewards to give lower-tier gear than intended.
Trials of Osiris medals are not counting toward the Skill of the One Gilding Triumph.
Special Ammo Meter progress does not carry over between rounds in Trials.
The Trials Spreadshot Hand Cannon currently has incorrect stats.
Infinite Fletcher Storm Bug for Strand Titans
Infinite Fletcher Storm can be triggered in Portal Activities during Solstice by sliding and meleeing with a charged melee while holding a Solar Orb.
The bug depends on controller or melee key binds; PC players may need to adjust binds for it to work.
Solstice & Solo Ops Tips
Solar Flares from Solstice can destroy mounds in Caldera without removing their shield.
Entering and leaving Matter Spark grants amplified status and a speed boost.
Players can fast-travel to the boss after completing objectives by jumping into the hole post-train sequence.
Efficiency of tips may vary depending on specific objectives or circumstances.
Weapon Farming and Rewards
High-tier rewards, including machine guns and armor, are dropping from Solstice activities, though duplicates are possible.
Current strategy: focus on stats, then transition to TechSec and Bushido tier armor at higher power levels.
Upcoming Events & Weapon Drops
Heavy Metal event returns in a few weeks, offering new weapons (Solar Eager Edge Sword "Sinansia" and a Scout Rifle).
These weapons will be available through Heavy Metal Engrams, up to tier 4.
Details on perks for both Sinansia Sword and Trachinus Rapid Fire Slug Stasis Shotgun provided.
Uncertainty exists over new sword ornaments, possibly indicating a future or alternate weapon.
Xur and Potential Future Inventory
Speculation on Xur selling old Adept Weapons, including Trials, Heresy, and Nightfall variants.
Event and Badge Speculation
Icons found in the database suggest possible links to the EDZ, Devrim Kay, and Rally Reward Redemption, hinting at a small upcoming event or connection to Ash and Iron.
Bungie’s Power Grind Adjustments
Bungie plans to adjust power grind pace in upcoming updates due to player feedback.
Changes expected as early as September alongside the Ash and Iron update and Renegade reveal.

Destiny 2 News and Updates
What's up guys, Houndish here, today jumping in with some Destiny 2 updates, news and funkiness. We can see right here, Infinite Fletcher Storm is possible again, so if you're a Strand Titan, there's a bit of fun to be had there. We'll talk about it in a moment, otherwise, Bungie gives some heads up regarding Trials this weekend, which of course is returning. We'll also give a quick mention to Xur's potential inventory, which seems to house a bunch of juicy weapons from the past. Additionally, the Heavy Metal event will be returning in a couple of weeks time, featuring some new weapons which haven't yet been obtainable.
They actually appear to be linked to Arms Week, or perhaps not, because we're going to get them from Heavy Metal. So we'll talk about that, as well as the possibility of another future event with some interesting badges and rewards. Plus, there are a couple of other updates from Bungie worth mentioning.
So if you guys enjoy this one, get subscribed to the channel and I'll keep you posted with more content. But otherwise, let's get into it. First up, ahead of Trials this week, DMG reminds players, currently, the Lighthouse chest rewards are sometimes giving lower gear tier rewards than intended. On top of that, Trials of Osiris medals are not counting towards Skill of the One Gilding Triumph.
And in Trials of Osiris, Special Anno Meter Progress is not retaining between rounds. Plus, the Trials Spreadshot Hand Cannon has an incorrect stat package. So, a few bugs linked to Trials worth bearing in mind right there.
Another separate bug right here, but Infinite Fletcher Storm for Strand Titans is possible right now in Portal Activities during Solstice. So basically, when you pick up one of the Solar Orbs, if you have a charged melee at the time, if you slide and use the melee while you're holding the orb, it's possible to get Infinite Fletcher Storm. I believe if you're running standard melee binds on controller, this should work. On PC, you might have to play around with those binds a little bit.
I think as long as you have charged and uncharged melee set to the same bind, it should work. Basically, it's just a bit of fun really. It's kinda strong in some Portal encounters of course, not necessarily the most efficient thing to do all the time, especially if you're trying to speedrun solo ops.
Other quick solo ops tips, especially for Caldera, when you have to blow up the mounds, the Solar Flares from Solstice will actually blow them up without you destroying their shield. The same thing applies to tangles. Another quick mention for getting through these quickly, if you enter Matter Spark and then leave it, you can get amplified and the speed booster.
Additionally, if you've completed all of your objectives, once you've gone through the train on Caldera, you can actually throw yourself straight into the hole right here, and it will spawn you at the boss, instead of having to continue to run through. So there are a few tips to get through these even quicker. They won't necessarily always apply, because you might have an objective left over, or it might be faster in some instances to destroy the cube and then the shield on the mounds, for instance. But depending on the run and how things play out, these tips can certainly be useful if you're trying to farm for gear from Solstice or just power.
And of course, we do get some pretty juicy rewards. Pretty happy with the tier 5 machine gun I've got. I've had a couple of other tier 5s dropped, unfortunately duplicate armor pieces.
I'm mainly running them just for the stats right now, aside from the set bonuses, and then I'm going to move over to TechSec and Bushido tier 4 and 5 armor when I'm at the right power levels. Certainly enjoying the grind for the moment, and of course Bungie have announced that they will be nerfing the power grind ever so slightly, or at least in some capacity, over the next few weeks, so we'll see how that pans out. Another thing related to Friday with Xur returning, I'm curious if he will ever sell the Adept Weapons from back in the day. So even Trials Adept Weapons, we've seen him sell some of the Trials stuff, I think on the first week of Edge of Fate, but there are additionally Heresy Adept Weapons as well as Nightfall Adept Weapons actually listed in the inventory. So I'm curious to see if he's going to sell them at some point.
Otherwise though, players looking in collections were asking the question, when will the Solar Eager Edge Sword drop? And of course that's the Sinansia right here. This does appear to be linked to Arms Week in some capacity, it was even on the Arms Week pop-up screen, but looking at the Heavy Metal event which is coming early in September before Ash and Iron, the event track rewards right here actually have those two weapons listed. So there is the sword, as well as the Scout Rifle.
And looking in the Heavy Metal Engrams, these weapons appear there as well. So the first time we're going to get them, by the looks of things, will actually be from the Heavy Metal event. There are engrams at different tiers, all the way up to tier 4, so it would appear that high tier versions of these will be available.
Again, the sword is a solar wave sword frame. In the first trade slot we can get proximity power, relentless strikes, attrition orbs, as well as assassin's blade, sharp harvest, and wellspring. Then the second slot can get surrounded, burning ambition, binary orbit, as well as elemental honing. Eager Edge, Chain Reaction. The other weapon though is the Trachinus Rapid Fire Slug Stasis Shotgun.
First trade slot on this is able to get Lead from Gold, Rime Stealer, Proximity Power, Rapid Hit, Killing Wind, and Transcendent Moment. Then the second slot can get Headstone, Precision Instrument, Chill Clip, Swashbuckler, Binary Orbit, and Encore. So we'll be looking out at getting these weapons in just a couple of weeks time from now.
Also interesting in relation to the sword, but there is actually another sword listed in the database, or at least the Acronal ornament for it, which is the tier 5 ornaments that weapons can get. And this one's listed as Idyllic Regal. Now, the thumbnail icon for it is actually different from the Armsweak looking sword, but the preview shows the same weapon as the Armsweak sword.
So I'm not sure if this is a development thing where either this is a new sword, but it's not available yet, or... We're looking at an old name for the sword that we're going to get from Heavy Metal. Not major, but interesting nonetheless.
Otherwise, players are speculating about these icons right here, which have been found in the database and specifically speculation as to whether they may be something related to ash and iron. Also, someone said here this one looks like a crossbow. Maybe we'll get another crossbow.
Of course, that is possible, but One thing which is interesting, if you look at the EDZ bounties, they basically have the same or very similar icons on them, as well as the same colour scheme in the background. So they certainly give off the EDZ vibe, and while I can't say for sure if this is related, but DevrimK has a hidden section of his inventory right now with a bunch of items referring to Rally Reward Redemption. These are items from the past, it includes stuff like the emblem we can see right here, as well as the Iris Pulsator Shell, which is a cool holographic ghost from back in Warmind.
So possibly a small event related to the EDZ Devrim Kay and Rally Rewards, whatever exactly that refers to. Either way, the main quest icons there certainly are going to be used for something in the future, so possibly another small event of some kind, or as speculated, they could simply be linked to Ash and Iron. So you'll have to give me your thoughts about those down below.
Otherwise, for the moment, that is what we have to speak about. I'm looking forward to getting more details about the Ashen Iron update we're getting in September. Again, as Bungie indicated, they've basically come out now and said they believe that the power climb in the moment is taking longer than they want it to, and they're planning adjustments for upcoming updates. So those changes will be coming as early as the start of September when we get the next update, as well as the reveal for Renegade. So I think it's broadly going to be a positive thing.
And even for folks who kind of enjoy the power climb at the moment, I've actually started enjoying it a lot more with some of the higher tier rewards dropping from Solstice and the extra power progression. But even if you think the power climb should be very long, which is fair enough, the one thing I think will get exhausting is having to repeat this when we get to Renegades and other subsequent expansions, right? Doing it now is one thing, but doing it numerous times or a couple of times a year and continuously moving forward at this current rate I think will get pretty exhausting.
So I certainly welcome those changes and will keep you posted when Bungie give us further details. For the moment though guys, that is what we have to round up, so let me know in the comment section any thoughts you have on what we've spoken about today. If you've enjoyed this video, a rating really does help me out on the channel, and be sure to get subscribed so that I can keep you posted with more content. Otherwise though, thanks for watching, and I hope you guys have an awesome day.
