It's a solo legendary run of a campaign where every time I die I must dismantle all 3 equipped weapons I had on at the point of death. I am not allowed to keep any weapons I find after this 5 hour period and if I run out of weapons it's game over! So let's see how much progress we can make in destiny after only our first 5 hours as a new light...

Next Episode – Creator: Begin the Edge of Fate Nuzlocke campaign run with the fully prepared character.
Destiny 2 Nuzlocke Preparation
In today's video, I've started a brand new account and I have five hours to prepare for the Edge of Fate Nuzlocke. If you're unfamiliar, allow me to explain what a Destiny Nuzlocke entails. This is a challenge I created back in The Witch Queen. A Nuzlocke is a solo legendary clear of an expansion's campaign. However, every time I die, I must dismantle all three weapons I had equipped at the point of death.
And if I run out of weapons, then it's game over. This all must take place on a new character, and I have five hours to prepare this character for the campaign run. So let's go back to square one and see just how many weapons we can find in our first five hours as a new light. Don't you just love it when a remake comes along that's actually better than the original? Like Crota's End in D2.
Boy was that a necessary upgrade. Well the sponsor of this video, Raycon, has gone and done it again with their Everyday Earbuds Classic model. And now with Active Noise Cancellation.
Sporting an 8 hour playtime and 32 hour battery life, these earbuds have become my daily choice whenever I'm on a walk or at the gym. The gel tips are super comfortable and the audio quality rivals that of big audio brands, but at a fraction of the price. These earbuds also now have active noise cancellation.
And if you've ever been to the gym for any amount of time, then you know there can be some loud dudes in there. Personally, I don't want to hear all that. I'd rather just listen to Huntrix. If you'd like to bag a pair for yourself, then go to buyraycon.com/toadsmoothie to get 20% off the fan-favorite everyday earbuds classic, sponsored by Raycon. I really recommend these earbuds, and by supporting them, you're also supporting me.
So don't wait, and get the upcoming fall season to a musically fine start. Thank you so much, Raycon, for sponsoring this video, and with that, Let's get to cooking. Man, I like this screen.
I like starting over. There's something fun about starting over, right? We have our three options, but we already know our fate has been decided.
We are going Titan this time around. We are going Titan. Dude, I'm so salty that I didn't think of salamander soda pop.
I tried to make my Titan look as much like one of the Saja boys as possible, which I mean, eh, okay. I felt like Final Shape was a bit too easy. Save for the raid lock.
The raid lock was really hard, but we're not doing a raid this time. Normally I give myself six hours, but this time I'm gonna give myself five. Five hours still might be a bit too much. We're also on Titan and that's what I'm familiar with. So zero glimmer, zero unstable cores, zero silver, and zero bright dust.
Oh my god. I forgot we don't even have our other subclasses. We... Okay, time starts. We gotta go.
It is 4 o'clock. We have until 9. As we set out on this new adventure, I of course picked up my Kvastav and Stubborn Oak, which I used to take down our first fallen walker. I say Final Shape was easy, and I think Edge of Fate will be easy too. I then did the obligatory rounds for Sha Han so we could skip the new light stuff and head to the tower.
We got, oh, we got, okay, okay, okay. Acquire a new light kit for my... Oh my god, okay, never mind.
We do get a starter exotic, guys. If I recall correctly, last time we did this, I did Sunbreaker. Because I believe that gives me Sunshot.
I want to say it's Sunshot, Riskrunner, Graviton. Yeah, Graviton. High-level, like, first impressions, Riskrunner sounds way better. Especially because of how much fallen shit is in this expansion.
You get Riskrunner from a quest steal. Oh, really? Graviton for JFK? Graviton Lance is frickin' OP though. You know what?
We're doing Graviton for the president. Oh dude, look at that. I forgot we get like some legendaries with it too.
First exotic, our starter exotic, Graviton Lance. I like it. Here we have our first legendaries and our first exotic. This is great.
This is off to a great start. After this, I started the Risk Runner quest from Zavala and ascended to the Righteous Rank of 2. Yes! Asshole. Ooh, yes I do, because I have, uh, uh, uh, uh, what's this expansion called? Edge of Fate!
Wow! Okay, we're off to a great start. The Solstice event is live at the time of recording this, so I'm definitely gonna take advantage of it.
The new weapons are really solid, and the set bonuses for the armor are actually really good. And this is something that I can work on pretty passively. I really like this Solstice, Solstice, Solstice aesthetic. I like this Solstice aesthetic.
Let's just play. To forge pieces of Solstice Armor, I need to find Alloy by completing Portal Activities, which is great, 'cause, well, I'll be doing a lot of that. There's also a free Event Card, which can give some solid rewards.
Anyway, my first order of business was of course getting Risk Runner. Experimental fit is your specialty I thought well you see because what happened is the hunter looked cool and then the Sorcerer Supreme looks stupid as shit But it was also pretty iconic and so for the Titan I was like I want this guy to like look good You know like I don't want him to look bad standing in front of the witness But now that we're not doing that dude We can have a rubber ducky Titan if we wanted to with a scorned Baron plate we can have a rubber ducky Titan with a scorned Baron plate Oh, yeah There we go. Riskrunner acquired. Y'all were right.
That was so easy. With Riskrunner acquired, I now have three exotics and we're not even done hour one. This is going very well. Uh, Meter, I am not doing Trials. Why am I...
Why am I gonna... Why am I even here? Thank you, Saint. But, uh, no thank you. I'm still working on my other subclasses, but for now, I'm gonna dive into some Fireteam Ops.
Would you be excited if Shattered Cycle was an Ahamkara expansion? Would that excite you? Oh yeah, that's... I've only seen one "no" so far.
I mean, you know I'd be excited. You know I'd be excited. Not too big on the Monster Tamer idea.
Wait, that's the thing, right? That would be something that like is a bit divisive, but I think it would be less divisive than the puzzles in Edge of Fate. Oh, we got 23. Oh, we got the...
We got the bow and it's tier two. We got a lot of bows, holy shit. I can't forget. I need to keep all of my weapons. I can't dismantle anything.
That's such a nice looking bow, man. Hour two, hour two guys. All right, let's see what we got here.
Is there anything we can get with glim... Oh, this is actually kind of big. Any of these items on screen. I can purchase them with glimmer.
Alright, well, I mean I'm broke now. I need to actually go get glimmer, but we can come back here. What does gunsmith have? I heard Sol and Ruby earlier saying gunsmith's weapons were kind of poopoo caca. We can run around after.
Oh my god. Okay. Now, this is epic. I am so glad we looked here. Rose.
Multimox CCX, the Compass Rose, and an Adept Hot Head. Unfortunately, I can't get these two because they require dungeon completions and I don't have those dungeons. That's huge. So I had completely forgotten about the Weight Gate weapons from Banshee.
I'm glad I remembered because these are some really nice pickups. In one more rank, we get a Tier 3 Solstice weapon, which is pretty awesome. Whisper of the Wyrm would be kind of cool. would be kind of cool i don't know we'll see i then went ahead and did two more fire team ops exotics are cool but i'm really in need of some more legendaries to pad out my inventory oh this is gonna be a tier three solstice weapon really hoping it's the grenade launcher or the other one i remember what the other one is but it's not the bow Yes, yes, yes!
Okay, okay, okay, that's good, that's good, that's really good. Oh, it's a strand! It's a strand one, too. Elemental Honing, Vorpal Weapon, Demolitionist, Transcendent Moment.
I'm very happy about that. I want to try this thing out. Dude, this thing looks so silly.
It's a... It's an area denial?! Oh my god. I did not realize this thing was an area denial frame, dude.
That's amazing. Dude, that's so goaded. I'm gonna be so sad if we lose this.
It's a fart gun?! Oh, let's see what we got here. Probably more bows.
Yeah, okay. We have three of these bows now. I like the bow, I don't like it that much, so I hope we get some new stuff. I then went to try and do an Atheon clear, but I realized that I needed to link my phone number to my account.
Oh, goddammit. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that since I already have two accounts, and there's quite a bit of overlapping information. But I guess it is what it is. Ooh, and a fin- And an exotic! Oh my god, I actually care about these now!
Oh, this is so exciting. You all are telling me to focus this. Dude, I feel like I do kind of want armor.
Now, okay, I have a running theory that there is baked-in beginner's luck with Eververse engrams because I feel like every time I start a new character or a new account, the first engram is like always an exotic. It's always something kind of spicy. I'm probably about to be proven so wrong, but Let's see.
Let's see if my theory holds any weight. Okay, no, I'm wrong. I'm completely wrong.
Do I have any shaders I can throw? I have no shaders. I have no silver.
Yeah, you're one shader bundle. Oh, sweet. I have 1,320 Bright Dust.
Can you imagine I save up enough and get the Doki Doki armor? We have three hours. I could do it.
Let me just put on some of my updated armor. Now we have a lot of options too. Look at that. Watermelon.
Can't go wrong with watermelon. Metro shift, which you literally cannot go wrong with metro shift. This kind of gives Iron Man vibes. The new Vex chest. Guys, I feel like the exotic is gonna make or break.
This is the Mark I. It's now time to finally decode my exotic engram. However, I quickly realized that my options were super limited. I have very few options here, if I have any options at all. I don't have exotic ciphers. I don't have enhancement prisms.
Ha ha ha. We could do one of two things. We can focus legs, which what are the Titan leg options anyway? Lion ramparts, lion rampants, peacekeepers, which is actually pretty good right now. It buffs your SMGs like quite a lot.
I have access to none of these because I don't have any of the expansions. Oh, and we also have dune marchers, which I really like, I really like Deuter Marchers. And we also, also have the Mark 44 Stand-asides, which while your Juggernaut shield is active, you slowly gain bolt charge stacks over time and increased weapon ready speed.
Sprinting while amplified creates an energizing field behind you that grants close allies a speed boost. Also this perk is called Seriously Watch Out. Yeah, Ripno Peregrine.
Peregrine would have been nice. Peregrine would have been really nice. Yeah, we can let fate decide. It is the edge of fate.
Or we could roll with getting either Lion Rampants, Peacekeepers, Dune Marchers, or Mark 44 Standasides. Eff it and let fate take the wheel. The nine shall put your fate to the test. Look, it is the edge of fate.
And as much as I do kind of... Like, can you imagine how goaded this would be for our Iron Man setup? But y'all are saying let fate take the wheel. God damn it, guys.
Don't say I didn't tell you so. When we get Eternal Warrior. It's a Nuzlocke, do it the Nuzlocke way? You're right.
You're- you know what? That's actually so real. That's actually so real.
I'm not gonna look. I'm not gonna look. Guys, I gotta go to the bathroom. I'm right back.
You know what? I can't even be mad. Look at my Titan right now.
Now imagine Eternal Warrior on that thing. You don't have to imagine it. You know why?
You know why you don't have to imagine it, guys? Come on! I can salvage this.
I'll salvage this. What does the exotic perk do now? Arc Final Blows grant an escalating damage bonus with Arc weapons.
While using Fist of Havoc, activating your super grants an overshield. Final Blows extend its duration. When it ends, gain a damage bonus to your Arc weapon.
That's not bad. That'll pair well with Hothead. That'll pair well with Riskrunner.
If I run Riskrunner and Hothead at the same time, that could actually be really good. The best part too, this thing does not shade like at all. This thing doesn't believe in shading.
Shaders are afraid of Eternal Warrior. Moving on from that, I grabbed the Whisper of the Worm quest for later. I then grabbed some of our live viewers and got absolutely pulled through Encore.
Oh, I forgot we get rewards like... Throughout this- Oh my- the Bushido set! With the recent changes made to armor, certain armor sets are now very desirable for their set bonuses, and the Bushido set is one of them.
So, if I'm able to get another piece of it at some point, I could at least have the two-piece set bonus, which would be really nice to have. Oh, another- Oh, the Bushido helm! Oh, but we have Helm of Eternal War, we need to get another exotic, man. Good lord!
Do you see all those orbs come out of him right there? So we have two hours left after this. Oh yeah.
Oh yeah! Mint Retrograde! We have the Theodolite, which is a micro-missile frame like Mountaintop, which is very nice.
We did get a Mint Retrograde. Alright, I did not expect to have a Mint Retrograde here. That's awesome, dude. How many weapons do we... have one two three four five seventeen three thirty three we have thirty three weapons right now i reluctantly ended our three with a game of team scorched i don't really like this game mode but its place in the portal made it a pretty good activity to run for loot that like grounded gameplay oh the year tied Apex!
Okay, so now we have all of the, um, Solstice weapons. Oh, let's take a look at this. Tide Apex, god, these things look so good.
Heading into the second to last hour, my arsenal is looking good, but not great. I've now earned enough alloy to forge a piece of Solstice armor, though. I ended up going with a chest piece, since I already have a mark and, unfortunately, a helmet. Oh, dude, this could actually, I mean, this could work with Eternal Warrior.
Yeah, receiving health temporarily grants your solar weapons increased flinch resistance, handling, and reload speed. Also, Rapid Solar Final Blows heal you. That's INSANE. I couldn't stand the way my Titan looked, so I messed around with some shaders, and now he looks...
Well, I mean, it isn't horrible. Okay, a weapon, though. This is good. Maybe another SMG? Another one.
Let's go! I feel like we should keep doing this. Do we get alloys from the exotic missions?
Let's uh, oh my lord, hello. What the fu- It was at this point that I decided to go for the Whisper of the Worm. However, I made a bit of a mistake. You see, we completed the portal version of the Whisper mission, which doesn't actually count towards the Whisper quest.
Oh, sweet. Pinnacle Ops. Oh, yes!
Another Mint Retrograde? What's the roll? Oh, my God.
Master of Arms. Kills with any weapon. Improves this weapon's damage for a short time. And stats for all. However, I thought that the reason we didn't get it to drop was because we actually had to go craft it.
And to access the Enclave, you need to beat the first mission of the Witch Queen, which we did. And surprise, surprise, it didn't work. I got the enigma though. I then finally realized my mistake and went back to clear the original Whisper mission again. "Hey, like at that point, return to Eris Morn. There we go. Okay now, oh let's go. Let's freaking go." All right, guys, whisper.
Perfect way to segue into the last hour. You what? That's right. Getting the sniper rifle took all of hour four, and it really only should have taken 15 minutes.
All right, guys, we're going into the last hour. This is bad. Going into our final hour, I want to get as many weapons as I possibly can. I just don't- I led with a few solo ops, since I had accumulated a handful of bonus drops for them. I ended up getting a pretty even split of weapons and armor, but I was also racking up more solstice alloy.
On top of that, I made some really great progress in my weekly seasonal pass. I don't want to play Solstice Scorched. I'm playing Control.
F*** that. I don't want to play Scorched. So let me say, I do not condone gambling, and I do not condone wasting your money.
I like to think I'm very financially responsible, but it's hard to resist Pokemon cards, man. It's hard. And we played it, and it was very fun. Why did he run away? He had that.
That was like the easiest kill in the history of kills. Why did he? That will be studied.
That is baffling. I don't know why he just let me live. Anyone else in here?
This is a deep cut, man. I'll be shocked if anyone else gets this reference. I want to say they were called Gormiti's. And did anyone ever collect Gomus, the erasers? I got a few more guns, then loaded into a game of Team Scorched, where we matched Frostbolt, and of course, lost.
Finally, I played and lost one more Crucible match to close out Hour 5. I can also... Oh yeah, look at that. Defeating a target with melee or a finisher grants escalating melee damage which decays over time.
Higher levels of burning fists grant increased weapon damage. Now it's time to spend my glimmer. I of course purchased a few key abilities from Ikora to start. With a few more abilities to my name, I can now go on a weapon shopping spree.
I tried to get a bunch more heavy weapons, but I did get a couple primary and special weapons like Riptide. What are the chances we get one with Chill Clip? Unrelenting perpetual motion, though.
I then realized I had enough alloy to purchase another piece of Solstice armor, which would allow me to have the two-piece set bonus. I also used my event tokens to buy more glimmer to buy more guns. Now comes the fun part.
It's finally time to customize our guardian. I realized that if I had two pieces of Bushido and two pieces of Solstice Armor, I can wear all four together plus one of my exotics and get the two-piece set bonus from both Bushido and the Solstice Armor sets. So I started building around Worm God Caress and quickly realized that was not going to be very easy.
There was one thing though that could potentially save this horrendous fashion. I am Iron Man. And that's the new ornament from Worm Gods in Eververse. If I just bought the ornament, this could be our fifth.
Not that one. Or this could be... Guys, please let me buy the ornament. Like, this unironically goes hard. I feel like that just is cheating.
Dear God Toad, save us from the negative drip. I feel like we gotta do it. As it is written...
We're breaking the rule. I usually say we're not allowed to spend money to make our character look better. But come on, do you really want me to run around Edge of Fate with Worm God Caress? This shit is atrocious.
That is probably the drippiest Nuzlocke character. New Nuzlocke, new rules. Vintage Timber.
Oh, the blue highlights. Kind of splendid. Splendid. Oh, man.
What do you guys think? Blue, black and gold, or red and black? After much deliberation, we ended up going with the blue since it felt a bit more fitting for Edge of Fate. But with that, the Soda Pop Samurai is complete and our Nuzlocke prep has concluded. In the next episode, we'll dive headfirst into the Edge of Fate Nuzlocke and see just how much trouble it gives us.
But until then, if you enjoyed, a like would be greatly appreciated. And of course, consider subscribing so you don't miss the next part in our adventure. I hope you're having a great day, night, or whatever it is. And until next time, Guardians, goodbye.
Bye.
