A new large-scale community faction war event for Destiny 2 has launched alongside week 2 of Renegades.
The event is managed through OathOfTheRenegades.com, which credits Bungie and LucasFilm, confirming it as an official, legitimate collaboration.
Players join one of several competing syndicates, run Lawless Frontier activities, and earn points for both their personal squadron and their chosen faction.
The site provides leaderboards, personal task lists, squadron pages, and rotating weekly and daily directives that shape the conflict.
Syndicate Details
Players choose one of three syndicates operating in the Tharsis region to represent.
Each syndicate has a distinct leader, philosophy, and primary sphere of influence, which guides event objectives and planets of focus.
Syndicate
Leader
Description / Goals
Typical Activities
Pykers (Pikers)
Riliks
Anarchist, atheist group of houseless Eliksni led by a rebellious biker. They reject the faith-based theocracy of traditional Eliksni culture, treating anarchism and atheism as core pillars of a new society. Sympathetic in some ways, but ultimately self-interested.
Carry out lawless, disruptive missions on Europa; interfere with and destabilize rival syndicate operations; create chaos across the frontier.
Tharsis Reformation
Zephyrus, Autonomous Mind
A splinter Vex faction that broke away from Maya Sundaresh’s Vex army. Freed from the Echo, they gained sentience and now chase power, glory, and heightened experiences, feeding everything into a growing library of understanding.
Run Lawless Frontier missions (e.g., on Venus); pursue power, data, and renown; execute faction-wide directives for control of assigned worlds.
Totality Division
Rao
Cabal branch of the Imperium’s Special Operations and Intelligence Bureau on Mars. Led by a powerful Psion enforcer, they put their own pocketbook, power, and ambitions first, then the Imperium’s. They regard Mars as already theirs, with other factions as minor irritants.
Maintain and enforce control on Mars; pacify the Vex and Pykers; conduct espionage and hard-hitting operations to solidify dominance.
How It Works
Link your Bungie account to the website, then select a syndicate to join and a content-creator lieutenant aligned with that syndicate as your squadron leader.
Once pledged, you receive event objectives such as:
Completing Lawless Frontier activities on specific planets (e.g., Venus or Europa).
Defeating combatants in those activities.
Successfully invading in Lawless Frontier modes.
Winning Crucible matches.
Each completed objective awards points to your personal total, to your squadron, and to your chosen faction, contributing to syndicate dominance.
Faction allegiance is flexible: the site explicitly notes you can betray your current syndicate and swap to another later, joining a different creator’s squadron if desired.
Leaderboards are updated daily, and syndicates that finish their weekly directives receive bonus points that can shift the standings.
Each event day, syndicates are assigned a specific planet where they must maintain influence by completing missions there; the faction that completes the most missions on its assigned world gains control for that period.
The overall event is divided into eight acts, each appearing to last about three days, with visible timers on the site tracking the progression.
Site Structure And Features
Homepage: Provides a general overview of the event, shows act timers, and highlights current syndicate control across the Lawless Frontier.
Tasks: Lists personal objectives, including daily tasks to increase your infamy rank within your chosen faction, as well as core Lawless Frontier goals.
Squadron Page: Displays participating content creators as lieutenants, their associated squadrons, and leaderboards ranking those squads against each other.
Rankings: Shows individual player point totals and overall syndicate standings, with a sidebar indicating which faction holds control at any given time.
At the time of the recording, the Totality Division was leading the conflict according to the site’s standings.
Known Issues And Limitations
Bungie had not publicly detailed or promoted this event when the transcript was recorded; it appears to have been a secret-style community activation initially circulated through creators.
Site stability was inconsistent: while accessible for some users, others experienced downtime or could not reach it at all.
Point tracking was unreliable in the early phase; for example, a completed Venus Lawless Frontier run did not immediately show updated points, implying processing delays or temporary outages.
Action Items
Link your Bungie account to OathOfTheRenegades.com to participate in the faction war.
Choose a syndicate that fits your preferences and select a content-creator lieutenant to join their squadron.
Prioritize Lawless Frontier missions on your syndicate’s designated planet each day to efficiently generate points.
Regularly check your Tasks and the weekly directives to align your play with the highest-value objectives and bonus opportunities.
Monitor the leaderboards and rankings to track which syndicates are gaining control and to decide whether to remain loyal or switch allegiances later.

Destiny 2 Renegades Secrets
A secret faction war event just began in Destiny 2. We're in week 2 of Renegades, but there's a new community event with leaderboards, targets, and oaths to be made or betrayed on the frontier. Welcome, Guardians. Let's talk about what this event is and how you can get started. So Destiny 2 veterans of the past may remember the faction wars with the basic factions Destiny 2 had: New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, Future War Cult. That was an event that took place in the tower, and over time players can see which factions were in the lead.
You would pledge to one of those factions, get a payout for when the event was over if you came in first. Faction War did not exist that long, but today in Destiny 2 we have a similar event, and a community-wide scale, and it goes much more in depth. The site to look at all this is called OathOfTheRenegades.com.
The bottom notes various companies including Bungie and LucasFilm, so this is a legit event. and many streamers are involved as you'll see in the beginning process here. In Renegades, you can choose three syndicates to work for, but with this site, this takes things to a much bigger faction war level. To start this on the site, you're going to pick one of the three factions that exist in Tharsis: the Pykers, the Tharsis Reformation, or the Totality Division. It says you can betray this faction later, so don't think about it too hard.
The Pikers are an anarchist, atheist group of houseless Eliksni led by Riliks, a rebellious biker. The Piker's philosophy of atheist anarchism comes as a response to the faith-based structure of the traditional Eliksni society. To them, anarchism and atheism are intertwined pillars of a new way of life.
Because the old society they reject is theocracy. They are a sympathetic group, but still self-interested. So if you join them you can carry out lawless frontier missions on Europa, disrupt any rival syndicate actions on Europa to cause chaos. The Tharsis Reformation of course is a strain of Vex that broke off from Maya Sundaresh's Vex army.
Separation from the Echo granted them sentience and now they pursue power and glory across the lawless frontier, feeding their heightened emotions and experiences into an ever-growing library of understanding. Zephyrus, Autonomous Mind, is the leader of the Tharsis Reformation, as chosen by the other members of their coterie. And then we have the Cabal Totality Division. The Totality Division on Mars is a branch of the Imperium's Special Operations, the Intelligence Bureau of the Barent Imperium. Led by the powerful Psion enforcer Rao, the totality division on Mars acts as an Imperia's violent swagger, prioritizing its pocketbook, power, and aspirations first, then those of the Imperium.
Rao considers Mars already under the totality division's control, with the Vex and Pikers only acting as minor irritants requiring occasional pacification. After you pick a faction, you're then going to pick a content creator aligned with that faction as a lieutenant. And with your Bungie account linked, you'll be able to do missions in the Lawless Frontier, complete objectives to get points for your squadron and faction.
As you see on my page here, I pledged to the Tharsis Reformation. So it's giving me objectives to carry out Lawless Frontier missions on Venus. There's money to be made. That's the big directive, complete Lawless Frontiers on Venus.
Then you have other things too. like defeat combatants, successfully invade in Lawless Frontier activities, win crucible matches. Each of these will give you a certain amount of points toward your squadron and overall faction choice.
And like I said, I started off with Tharsis, but I could jump onto the Totality train if I really want and partner with another squadron like Skaro for example. The website says "Join a Syndicate and fight for control in the Lawless Frontier." Will you join the Espionage-Focused Totality Division, the Anarchist Pikers, or the Gambling Tharsis Reformation? The rankings will be updated daily, with bonus points being awarded to the Syndicates who complete their weekly directives. Every week, Syndicate leaders will be provided faction-wide directives to strike down the opposition, along with daily individual tasks to raise your infamy among your ranks.
Each event day, Syndicates are designated a dedicated planet to maintain influence over by completing activities in the Lawless Frontier. The winning Syndicate will be the one that completes the most missions on their own planet. So this takes Faction Wars of Destiny to a whole new level. And we can actually see the progress on the site with leaderboards compared to how it was back in the day with the different banners in-game. And to me this also further expands that Frontier fantasy.
The community has a reason to pick one beyond the items they get in the game. Bragging rights, war against others in the community to sort of stir things up gameplay wise. Now this will likely award something in the end, but as of now this is just the first day and on the website you can see timers.
There's certain acts, 8 of them in total. They seem to last 3 days each. And at the bottom of the page you can see the current Syndicate control. At the time of making this video, the totality division is in the lead.
On the site you have the homepage, the tasks which show you your personal objectives, the squadron page showing the content creator leaders in the leaderboard so far, and then the rankings which show individuals, their points, and the syndicates to the left side. So Bungie hasn't said anything about this yet specifically. I think this was supposed to be some type of, you know, mini secret thing with the creators knowing about it, letting their audiences know.
And then as more people jump in, figure out what's going on, they might, you know, tweet about it. But as of currently, the site is up for me, but it seems to be down for a lot of other people. I did one run here through a Venus Lawless Frontier activity to see if it would update my points on the site, and currently it hasn't, so things might be down at the moment, but at least you know how things generally are supposed to work. So there you have it, Guardians, a quick little tutorial on this new event in Destiny 2. Let me know in the comments down below what Syndicate you're going to side with, and what type of rewards you think this will grant the winners in the end.
