Destiny 2 Weekly Update Highlights
What is up, guys? It's your boy Rick Cackis, and today we've got some brand spanking new Destiny 2 news, courtesy of the Bungie weekly update that has just gone live, revealing official information. And so, let's get started. Now, first things first, what's been going on this week for Destiny 2? Well, actually quite a lot. All involving chess. Frankly, Destiny 2 became Chestny 2 since the weekly update. So, there is a hidden area that contains a chess board, and on it there's going to be multiple different chess puzzles where you have to set up a checkmate. If you want to know exactly how the mechanics of this puzzle work, definitely check out the video linked right up above, guys. But there is 27 total puzzles. If you solve all of them, you actually get some pretty juicy and frankly easy to get loot. You get uh three adept masterwork heresy weapons in total. Those are not easy to come by, frankly. So, if you want to know just all 27 solutions, check out the video linked up above right now. However, once you enter all 27 solutions, uh you're going to get a secret triumph and again, you're going to get those adept masterwork weapons, but you're also going to change this area. Now if you go and interact with this uh bowl of water essentially you will reveal your particular part in a community puzzle. So over the past couple of days people have been doing this and submitting their you know personal chessboard. There was I think over 4,000 pieces in total uh that we needed. A lot of great creators like Scar9 and0 was doing a lot. Uh Mr. Raffle Waffles. I even saw Mantic streaming it and you know data was telling people to get data. It was a ton of people working on this community puzzle. Again, unfortunately your boy was out of commission since my wife was taken out by food poisoning by a rogue A&W burger. But after a while of compiling this data, eventually this weird website was unlocked where you could enter even more codes. And as the first part of all of this guys, a brand new emblem is now available. Simply enter the code you see on screen right here on bungeie.net and you will gain this new emblem. But after that more work was done compiling, verifying etc. And eventually guys I can say that this is the complete master. So what you need to do is load into uh this unknown space chess area on endame difficulty. Midame is when you're solving the puzzles. End game is when you're doing the community puzzle. And then you're simply going to set up all the pieces uh like you see on screen right here with this like master answer. And once you do, you're going to submit this answer as you can see. And then uh the area is going to light up. It's going to change. And then you are going to get a reward chest guys. In this chest, you get a brand new exotic ship, a new shader, uh a new emblem again, and you're also going to get some rare materials like three ascendant shards. Uh for some people is pretty valuable and stuff like that. And then also, guys, once you're done grabbing these rewards, head up to the water up above, interact with it, and we get a brand new cutscene. grief's a funny thing. Some folks get stuck in it. Frozen in place, it holds them hostage. And some folks, yeah, some folks just run. I went far. I had to. I couldn't look at the moon. The way I see it, the farther you run, the less likely you are to get stuck. But this universe tends to stop me in my tracks. One way or another, something's out there, hero. It's throwing rocks at our window. All right, now moving on from there to the brand new information within the TWAB. First of all, guys, we actually have another free emblem as you can see right here. So again, enter that code on bungee.net. All right, so as for the weekly update, Bungie talks about the upcoming Edge of Fate reveal event. So they say, "You got a sneak peek already, but there's only five more days to go until we reveal the Edge of Fate. will cover many of the changes coming to Destiny 2 this summer, the new expansion and its campaign, major changes coming to many core and structural systems throughout the game, and some new rewards you will be earning. So, let's repeat this one last time. Then, join us on May 6th at 10 a.m. Pacific, except not really. It's 9:00 a.m. Pacific, as you can see from this image. They actually sneak edited it to 9:00 a.m., but I got the original screenshot. Uh, as we reveal not only the next expansion for Destiny 2, but also the beginning of a new year of content. Tune into the stream for 15 minutes on Twitch with your Bungie account connected to Twitch and you will receive this brand new emblem, guys. And this does look pretty sick. Moving on from there, Bungie talks about a heavy metal tournament and emblem. So remember, heavy metal is the new tanks versus Briggs PvP mode that's going to be launching on May 9th, the first Friday after Right of the Nine goes live, guys. So they say, "We're pitting eight content creator teams against each other in a high octane tournament during heavy metal week to see which team can become the lords of heavy machinery because we don't yet know who is going to advance to the semis and finals. Here is the full schedule. So you have uh qualifiers on May 9th, you have May 10th, the semi-finals, and May 11th being the finals." They say the winning team will receive a unique reward inspired by an in-game item. Additionally, if you watch this tournament, you have the chance to get this brand new Mad Dog emblem, guys. All right, moving on from there, we have a big one, a new sandbox preview. So, with update 8.2.6 starting on May 6th, there's going to be some balancing changes. Here's what's happening for Crucible only. First of all, prismatic supers, they've reduced the prismatic specific super cool down penalty from 10% to 5%. So, you're going to get your super a bit faster. For scatter grenades, they've reduced scatter grenade damage versus players by 15%. For hunters, uh the on the prowl void aspect is too strong. So, they've reduced PvP prey finding range from 45 m to 25 m. and they've reduced the PvP hunt time from infinite to 15 seconds. Then for the warlock, lightning surge, the arc aspect can feel frustrating to play against. So they've clamped the variability of lightning surge damage against players and they've slightly increased the minimum damage dealt and reduced the maximum damage dealt. Then for global changes guys, for hunter, withering blade, this is for stasis and prismatic. Uh they've increased tracking strength by 20% and increased damage by 10%. Then for all throwing knife melees, guys, they fixed an issue where throwing knives were not tracking correctly. They should now be more consistent. For lightweight knife specifically, they've increased the tracking shape size by 10% and the tracking strength by 20%. For fan of knives, they've increased the tracking shape size by 15%. Then for on the prowl, they've reduced prey finding cooldown from 0.5 seconds to 0.1 seconds. So you get it a lot more often. And ability energy is now granted instantly instead of over time. So actually big PVE buff there. Then for the warlock, the lightning surge arc aspect, they've slightly increased the follow-up melee suppression time after lightning surge to match shoulder charge and other similar abilities. Moving on from there for pulse rifles, specifically the legacy frame guys. So the legacy frame origin trait now reduces ADS damage fall-off scaler by 0.1. This reduces the battler and the STO's ADS damage fall-off scalers from 1.7 to 1.6, which matches high impact pulses and increased the BXR battler's airborne effectiveness stat from 10 to 21. And then for rapid fire frames, they've increased the base damage from 14.5 to 15 and they've increased the precision damage from 27.6 to 27.8, guys. Next up, we have hand cannons. So, first of all, heavy burst hand cannons. They've increased the ADS damage fall-off scaler from 1.5 times to 1.6 times. The adaptive uh judgment specifically, they've increased the magazine size from 9 to 11. The reload speed has been increased as well. And the handling speed has been increased as well, guys. And they say it's been it's returning uh with the holof foil treatment during right of the nine. So, they're taking an opportunity to buff it because it's going to be one of the more desirable things you're going after. Then for auto rifles, for high impact frames, increased base damage by 4%. Body shot goes from 23 to 24, critical from 41.4 to 43. That's pretty interesting. For precision autos, they've increased the base damage by 3% and they've reduced the precision damage scaler slightly to offset that. So, you can see the changes here. For submachine guns, specifically adaptive submachine guns, they've increased the ADS damage fall-off scaler from 1.4 to 1.5. Then, for shotguns, heavy burst slugs, they've increased the damage by 8%. Not many. Mainly, you just really have the one from uh the Festival of the Lost. So, if you have a god roll, you might want to whip it out cuz, you know, just more damage is nice. Then for the perks, guys, first of all, one quiet moment. It now has two stacks. One that activates 1 second after being out of combat for 50% of the bonus, and the other at 2 seconds. Then, uh, elacrity. This now activates at reduced effectiveness when a teammate dies, reaches maximum effectiveness when two or more teammates are currently dead. guys. Then we have the exotic weapons update. So, the Lord of Wolves has been wrecking PvE enemies, destroying raid bosses, but they've reduced the hipfire damage in PvE by 30%. So, massive nerf there. Should really bring it back down to reality. So, if you haven't been using it, definitely this weekend do it before it's nerfed. Moving on from there, the Riskrunner, they've increased the zoom from 13 to 14. Then the Truth and the Two-tailed Fox, both of those exotic rockets. They've increased the amount of ammo picked up from ammo crates in the Crucible from one to two. That's kind of interesting. Two uh rocket launcher shots, especially with the truth. That's kind of saucy. Then for the Althonum, creating a special ammo brick now only costs 50% energy. And uh they've rewarded the vestigial alchemy trait to be less confusing, guys. Then for finality's augur, they're actually doing a lot here. They've increased the duration that a target is painted to match the duration of the turret. The environmental target marker now marks additional targets that enter the zone after its initial creation. Now grants an automatic reload from reserves after deploying a turret. They've reduced uh the turret's self damage by 85% and they've increased the turret's damage by 10%. Moving on from there, guys, for exotic armor, first of all, for the hunter, of course, the radiant dance machines. So, they've reduced the bonuses granted to primary weapons when hipfiring. align the hipfire bonuses to range and accuracy with the values granted by the hipfire grip perk instead of the legacy frame intrinsic perk. So, they've reduced accuracy bonus for standard weapons by 60%, reduced aim assist fall-off distance by 60%, further reduced accuracy bonuses for customtuned exotic weapons, including the last word, by an additional 25%, guys. And although dodge uptime is already lower on RDMs than it is with other hunter exotics, we wanted to reduce the class ability refund benefit just a bit in PvP to make it less of a focal point of the exotic. So, they've reduced the amount of energy refunded for defeats against players when you uh do not have full class ability energy from 33% to 20%, which is the strategist perk. Then, guys, for the Titan, specifically, Lion Ramparts. So, it's been a niche exotic. So, here's what they're doing. Added the accuracy and range hipfire bonuses from the Radiant Dance Machines to the Lion Rampart for primary ammo weapons only. These hipfire benefits are always active, not just when airborne. Wow. Okay, so that's kind of crazy. Although it would be like adding the nerfed uh bonuses for the RDMs. Then the plus 50 airborne effectiveness bonuses bonus is now always active, not just when you are hipfiring when airborne. Moving on from there, for the Luna faction boots, guys, uh they've added the accuracy and range hipfire bonus from the RDMs to the Luna faction boots as well for primary ammo weapons only. Uh these hipfire benefits are always active, not just when in a rift. They've decreased the range bonus granted by empowering rift by 50% in PvP, uh only to reduce occurrences of extremely long-range kills with short-range weapons like fusions and slug shotguns. guys. Then we have three new rewards also coming with this May 6th update. So, first of all, for Iron Banner, we're getting the Nature Reclaimed, which is a new solar lightweight frame scout rifle. In column 3, so the left column, it gets killing wind, outlaw, heel clip, lone wolf, rapid hit, shoot. In the right column, desperate measures, kill clip, incandescent, precision instrument, box breathing, explosive payload. Well, you know, heel clip plus explosive or uh definitely incandescent could be kind of juicy for PvE, but solar lightweight frames are not really seeing a ton of play. But then for Trials of Osiris, we're getting the Inquisitor, which is a new arc precision slug shotgun from the Suros Foundry. So, left column, Envious Assassin, Lone Wolf, Off-Hand Strike, Loose Change, Perpetual Motion, Slide Shot, Threat Detector. uh right column, bait and switch, closing time, cascade point, fragile focus, jolting feedback, opening shot, and precision instrument. So, you know, definitely some decent PvP perks. PVE, you know, envious assassin plus bait and switch could do a lot of damage. Uh then you have Nightfall weapons. We're getting one new Nightfall weapon, the Cruel Mercy, which is an arc heavy burst pulse rifle from the Omalon Foundry. So, uh, left column, Dragonfly, uh, Demolitionist, Eddie Currant, Fourth Times of Charm, Keep Away, Lone Wolf, right column is Jolting Feedback, uh, Adrenaline Junkie, Head Seeker, Frenzy, Kill Clip, and Desperado. So, certainly for PvP, you know, something like Lone Wolf or Keepaway Plus, Desperado, Head Seeker, Kill Clip, all that stuff is pretty decent. And for PvE, Dragonfly in the Left is always nice, guys. So, Dragonfly on the left plus, you know, jolting feedback plus frenzy. Uh, any of those things could actually be kind of juicy. Moving on from there, they say the nature reclaimed will be available starting on May 20th when Iron Banner returns. Then for the Inquisitor and Cruel Mercy, they say we're trying something a bit different for the duration of the Right of the Nine and until the Edge of Fate launches. While both will be available at their respective vendors, they will also drop as additional rewards when you finish a Trials match or Nightfall activity. And that also includes their adept counterparts, which is really interesting. And Trials of Osiris is back on May 13th. So, winning on a four win streak can get you the featured reward, the Aisha's Care, um, but also an extra Inquisitor adept to go with it. Same thing for Grandmaster Nightfalls. For every Lotus Eater adept you will get on the week of May 6th, you can also get an adept Cruel Mercy. Okay, kind of a weird way of doing that. So, not adding them to the rotations, just adding them as a bonus reward. Moving on from there, guys, the final thing we are talking about is going to be the uh AsianAmerican Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders Heritage Month, guys. and you can snag this emblem with a $10 donation. And of course, the link to that is in the 12, which is linked in the description of this video. Guys, that is it for the video. Hope you enjoyed and found this informative.
