This session focused on comprehensive in-game weapon damage testing, benchmarking a variety of weapons and mods to evaluate their performance, with a focus on the Temporal Blast mod and “eggplant” betting for outcomes. Multiple weapons and mod combinations were compared in direct damage scenarios, with practical advice and community engagement throughout.
Testing Process and Methods
Weapons tested included Queen Breaker, crossbow, Mint Retrograde, Return of Memory, Sublimation, Unwavering Duty, Thunderlord, Boom Slang, Agape, Lionfish, shotguns, and Lord of Wolves.
Tests were done with and without specific mods such as Temporal Blast and Temporal Armaments.
Artifact mods and weapon stats were adjusted throughout to ensure fair comparison.
Each weapon’s damage numbers were recorded, often over multiple trials, to find best-case outcomes.
Lucky Pants and Radiant Shrapnel interactions were tested with various hand cannons.
Weapon effectiveness was compared both at base and with optimal setups, including reload and mag perks.
Weapon Performance Highlights
Queen Breaker set as the initial benchmark with a top damage of 13,728.
Crossbow with Temporal Blast outperformed all, reaching up to 23,905 in damage.
Mint Retrograde delivered high damage, nearly matching or exceeding the crossbow in some tests.
Return of Memory and Agape performed well but did not surpass the top performers.
Unwavering Duty and Boom Slang exceeded Queen Breaker with the right mods, but not consistently at the top.
Thunderlord, when optimized, also outperformed Queen Breaker.
Elemental Honing with reconstruction on fusion rifles provided impressive results, outperforming baseline Queen Breaker.
Dual Loader perk drastically increased shotgun reload speed, pushing their damage output higher.
Lord of Wolves ultimately outperformed shotguns, remaining a powerful option.
Key Observations and Takeaways
Temporal Blast mod consistently elevated weapon performance across multiple archetypes.
Weapon tier and perk synergy (e.g., Vorpal, Cascade, Precision Instrument) significantly affected outcomes.
Reload speed and mag perks (e.g., Dual Loader) can enable higher DPS by reducing downtime.
Lucky Pants synergy with hand cannons offers strong, but setup-dependent, damage boosts.
Lord of Wolves remains one of the best damage dealers despite the availability of new weapons and mods.
Action Items
TBD – All Participants: Consider further testing with tier five versions and alternative mod combinations for top-performing weapons.
TBD – Loco: Test fusion rifle with Elemental Honing and alternate charge speeds for optimal results.
TBD – All: Monitor for future updates or bug fixes that may affect weapon or mod performance (e.g., Vorpal bug on crossbow).
Questions / Follow-Ups
Is there additional benefit to combining certain mods (e.g., Chill Clip with Reconstruction) not yet tested?
Should backup plans or further artifact mod testing be included in future sessions?
Will upcoming patches alter Temporal Blast effectiveness or weapon behavior?
Recommendations / Advice
Prioritize the Temporal Blast mod for maximal weapon performance this season.
Use weapons with high base synergy and efficient reload/mag perks for sustained damage phases.
Consider Lord of Wolves and crossbow as top picks for current meta damage output.
Today, we're visiting our old friend, The Templar, to test some of the new weapons we got with The Edge of Fate Let's just say that some of the new DPS options leave our old metah picks in the dust. We used The Queenbreaker, the former top DPS option, as a benchmark for comparison. REMEMBER, the damage values have been squished so we won't be seeing those seven figure damage values anymore. But fellas.. I'm for real this time. After today, we're done damage testing for the rest of 2025.
