Exploring the Destiny Edge of Fate ARG

Well, it just so happens that the one week we leave for family vacation is the same week Bundy decides to drop an ARG inside of Destiny. And not only did we receive two new emblems, a ship and a shader, completing the puzzle also unlocks a new cutscene that reveals a lot of new information about the Edge of Fate expansion, which is being revealed this Tuesday. First things first, guys, if you have not seen this cut scene, watch this right now. grief's a funny thing. Some folks get stuck in it, frozen in place, it holds them hostage. And some folks, well, some folks just run. I went far. I had to. I couldn't look at the moon. The way I see it, the farther you run, the less likely you are to get stuck. But this universe tends to stop me in my tracks. One way or another, something's out there, hero. It's throwing rocks at our window. Now, if you're a little confused after that, no worries. I promise you by the end of this video, you're going to understand everything you need to know about the ARG, how to get all the rewards, and more importantly, where we are going in the edge of fate. Now, this all started 2 weeks ago when chess pieces started appearing around the solar system. There were 60 in total that was located on the Dreadnot, Earth, Europa, etc. We have an entire guide on how to find them if you want to collect them all. But this week, a chess board appeared inside of Aerys's throne room. And interacting with the board teleported you and your fire team to a giant chess board where the goal was to solve 27 puzzles by standing on these different platforms and shooting squares on the board to place, delete, or swap colors of the chess pieces in order to put the opposing king and checkmate. Again, we have a guide of all 27 solutions that you can watch here. Let me just say you have to be very intentional with how you put the king and checkmates as you have a limited amount of plays and pieces that you can utilize across all 27 rounds. Now, if you don't care about the loot as you do get a dead drops from this, but you're just here to speedrun the emblem and the cut scene, stick around because there is a method to skip all 27 puzzles. Now, after completing the puzzles, all of the pieces will despawn and then a bowl of water will appear on the right pedestal. Now interacting with the bowl will display a signal frequency on the left hand side of your screen and will also give you a top-down view of the chessboard which is now transformed to display a coded message. Now in total there were 4,96 different variations of this code and this is where the community stepped in big time. We're not going to go super in depth on each step required to solve this code here. But if you're looking for a full breakdown of ARG, you can check out Milo's video. Scar's even got a video. I think Mac even threw some stuff together as well going over just the contributions that everyone did in order to pull this thing off. Now, some of these coded messages had pieces of a QR code in the center and when combined the final QR code spit out a website URL, that being www.onarchchives.net. Now, the URL is a terminal that we can interact with, very similar to the Marathon ARG that took place just a few weeks ago. Now, clicking the home button pulls up a quick menu with eight codes that we can use to discover more tidbits of information. We'll come back to these later as a ton of very important lore is hidden here. Now, one of the discoveries made in this terminal was the secret symbol emblem code JGN PX4 DFN. Now, we'll have a link down below that will take you to Bungie's website and you can redeem it directly from there. Just simply link your Destiny account, copy and paste, and then it will appear in your collections. Now, looking back at the AON terminal, what we care about most right now is code 011, which pulls up even more codes. And inputting code 11 1 03 reveals an FNE code. Now, an FNE code for science Edward's notation is used to convey where pieces are placed on a chessboard. And when you translate this F& code, it shows us how to skip the 27 chess puzzle. Essentially, when you load into the middle game, either by interacting with the chessboard in Aerys's Throne World, like we mentioned earlier, or by selecting unknown anti-chamber node, you'll enter the chessboard room, and the board will already have two kings and a queen, which is three out of the seven pieces we need to recreate the F& code, which we just found. The remaining four pieces can all be found in Aerys's apartment. Two pawns, one knight, and one bishop. You collect these pieces and then you stand on the appropriate platforms, shoot the squares for each respective piece. And after you match the FN code, all the chess pieces will disappear and you have now entered the endgame. Once again, the community gathered an immense amount of data to power through the next step. After combining all 4,96 different chessboard variations into a giant grid, 64 new chess games were then created. And after solving each individual chess game for checkmate, the final chess board you can see on the screen was created. Inputting this board in the game and interacting with the cylinder on top of the platform in front of the board spawns a chest on the opposite side of the room. This is where you can go and collect ship, a takenesque shader, and the enigmatology emblem as well as a ton of materials. Now, to view the cut scene, you just need to walk up the steps behind the chest and interact with the water. Now, this takes us to the real reason we're making this video, the lore. What does this all mean? Now, when you look back at the web terminal codes, we find small segments of lore that answers many of our questions. After inputting code 001, we're told, quote, "The Apollo intertemporal observation network notes and logs date on time dilation and other anomalies across the visible universe, separating the chaff of normal light speed trauma time from other more serious mismatches. Now, Apollo intertemporal observation network stands for AON. It's also a really good MRPG that I used to play back in the day. Now, outside of Destiny, this isn't even the first time we have heard of Aon. In the dungeon, Vesper's host, we received this dialogue right here. I've got the archive of Dr. Bray's published staff memos, pabytes of data in the raw files, Rasputin, the Stoneworm Protocols, the Aon Initiative, Sotaria. I had siblings this whole time. and you never let me know. Don't tell if you'd like a hand with that data, my dear. My agents may be amateur splicers at best, but they get the job done. Now, there's speculation that since both Rasputin and Sonora are warines, that perhaps the Stoneworm Protocols and the AON Initiative are also some form of AI. Now, it's also noteworthy that the AON logo puts the A and I together, which could be read as AI, and then N, which could be referring to the nine. Now, we're just spitballing ideas here. However, another one of the terminal codes 003 uses terms like our founder and refers to scientists performing chess experiments. So, perhaps there is an AI involved or even steering the helm. But more than likely, this is an organization or group of individuals brought together by Kus Bray to monitor temporal anomalies. Now, the test pieces we found in game are most likely the results of experiments performed by AON. And when we enter code 11103 to find the Midgame skip, the word disappearing and van, which could be short for just vanish, are used to describe the chess experiments. Now, we have no idea if or how the Nine are involved with the process of depositing pieces around our solar system. But considering the Drifter's relationship with the emissary of the Nine, it's not a stretch to believe he was a target for the Nine's attempts to communicate with us. Every location we see chess pieces in game are places that Drifter has visited in episode Heresy while he was grieving Aerys's death. Now, there's a connection here. Even if we don't understand it now, we probably will soon. Now, one thing we should mention is that Aeon is also the name of a hellenistic god associated with time. Code 002 states, "Aon takes its name from the old Greek god of prophecy in truth." Now, the wiki states that Aon is also depicted with the zodiac, the orb or circle encompassing the universe, which is a very important point that we're going to touch on in just a moment. Now, inputting code 004 spits out this sentence. The Orort cloud, something's known as the opi orort cloud, was proposed by Dutch astronomer Yan Orort. Now, some science terms were being thrown around here. Essentially, the outer or cloud is speculated to be a mass of special debris encircling the entire solar system. Now, this would line up with what we saw in the edge of fate teaser where a guardianship flies past a satellite and then a bunch of asteroids and debris. Now, think for a second as AON being described as an observation network. Is it possible this could also be referring to a satellite network? Remember how we mentioned the god Aon is depicted with the zodiac? The zodiac is essentially a band of constellations in the sky that coincides with the annual path of the sun. Funnily enough, a network of satellites can also be referred to as a constellation. So what if Aon is an entity dedicated to monitoring temporal anomalies has now created a constellation of satellites that encircles the solar system in the Orort cloud? It all seems to line up. The best part is there's more. Inputting code 008 outputs this text here. Certain trans neutranian objects cluster in ways not explicable by the gravity asserted on them by currently known solar bodies. If however there were another planet-siz object obscured from our sight in some manner. The gravity would exert would explain the tilting and the clustering of these objects. In fact, we can calculate the size of the planet required down to the dot dot dot. What this text is speaking about is a hypothetical planet at the edge of the solar system called planet 9. This is a real thing. There's actually an entire Wikipedia page devoted to it. Real scientific observations have been performed to discover if this planet exists. This is the planet we see in the teaser. The same planet we see in the cut scene with the drifter. This is where we are going in the edge of fate. A hidden planet located in the orort cloud at the edge of our solar system. Now, of course, this is all just a theory, but a very strong one given the evidence. A lot of people think we may be visiting the Kepler system, which was also pulled from the showcases teaser. It's possible if Planet 9 isn't actually a planet and ends up being a singularity or a wormhole, then who knows? We may end up in the far-flung corner of the universe. We'll just have to wait and see on Tuesday. There's a lot more we can dive into in regards to the Aon Terminal and what the implications are for the story of Edge of Fate. If you like a good video to watch, go ahead and give BE's video a watch here, guys, down below. He does a fantastic job analyzing every angle and he has some pretty unique theories about what the chess puzzle actually means as well. Our goal was just to give you a brief overview of the most relevant information you need to know before Tuesday's reveal which is coming up quick. Bungie recently posted another short teaser of the emissary's feat which you guys are having a field day over with on Twitter. Who knows, we may even get a trailer on Monday. Either way it goes guys, Tuesday is looking pretty hype and we would love to have you join us in the stream when Bungie goes live. Well, fellas and ladies, thank you all for coming and watching. And as always, slap that like button like your mama told you, right?
