comprehensive guide to last-minute preparation for Destiny 2’s Edge of Fate expansion, focusing on changes to game systems and prioritizing effective strategies to maximize progress on day one.
Key Prep Strategies for Edge of Fate
Bounty prep remains important; complete and save weekly, daily, and repeatable bounties with extra focus on weekly bounties for maximum experience.
Collect weekly bounties from vendors such as Variks, Sha-Han, Petra Venj, Hawthorne, Lectern of Enchantment, Eris Morn, Starhorse, and Nimbus.
Use private matches to quickly complete Hawthorne’s Crucible Clan bounties.
Do not hoard depreciating bounties like Gunsmith bounties or obsolete world currencies; turn them in for glimmer before expansion launch.
Upgrade modules and light/gear score infusions are unnecessary; your level will reset in Edge of Fate.
Enhancement cores and ascendant shards remain useful and should be stockpiled.
Exotic & Legendary Armor Farming
High-stat exotic armor (e.g., 66+) acquired now will outperform new exotics in Edge of Fate due to upcoming stat caps.
Turn in all exotic engrams prior to expansion to target specific exotics, using ghost mods to influence stat rolls (especially mobility).
Farm exotic engrams from lost sectors and Grandmaster Nightfalls, using Tome of Want and Enriching Tonics for bonus rewards.
Legendary armor farming is less critical, but some unique stat rolls possible now will not be obtainable post-expansion due to new archetype limits.
Focus on acquiring impossible-to-get stat combos for legendary armor via Master Dungeons or Failsafe’s Echo Engram focuses at the HELM.
Major Stat and System Changes
Mobility, Resilience, and Recovery will become Weapons, Health, and Class stats, with detailed changes affecting armor priorities.
All stat numbers now matter (no more “multiples of 10” breakpoints).
Artifice slot is being removed from exotics; masterworking now gives +15 stats.
Armor set bonuses (especially on Crucible armor) will have significant impact, often outweighing stat optimization.
Exotic Class Items & Prismatic Builds
All exotic class items will upgrade to Armor 3.0, giving immediate stat boosts but losing the Artifice mod slot.
New stat archetype (left-side spirit) and tertiary stat (right-side spirit) are chosen for class items.
Prismatic aspect fragment slots have been nerfed for some builds; review affected builds and set preferred fragments ahead of time.
Seasonal Artifact & Weapons Prep
Seasonal artifact perks will favor Solar, Strand, and Stasis; Solar will have significant bonuses (e.g., rapid Solar weapon hits grant Radiant).
Prepare Solar weapons and builds to take advantage of the new meta perks.
Additional Preparation Tips
Withhold claiming glimmer and resources from prior season passes on Bungie.net to access during Edge of Fate as needed.
Featured exotics will receive new gear bonuses (up to 10% weapon damage, bonus resistance for armor); plan day-one builds around these featured items.

Destiny 2 Edge of Fate Prep
What is up guys, it's your boy Rick Kakas and today you did it again didn't you gamer? You waited until the final week to do your prep for the upcoming Edge of Fate expansion? Well don't worry because I got you covered.
In this video we're gonna be going over a bunch of different things that you can do during this final week to give you a massive head start when the Edge of Fate releases. Be the guy who's day one ready. Be the guy that has all your friends going "wait, How are you so high of a level? Well, let's get started. Now, right off the bat, the most important thing to say is that the Edge of Fate is launching alongside multiple massive core game overhauls. Destiny 2 will be a completely different game when the Edge of Fate releases. And so I have tips and recommendations in this video that are completely different compared to previous prep videos I've made, like The prep process is going to be very different this time around. So with that being said, let's get the most common tip out of the way and that is bounty prep. Yes, you still want to do it. It's the process of completing bounties now and waiting to turn them in until after the Edge of Fate. Therefore, you get a big chunk of experience from all the bounties and that's going to level up your new seasonal artifact quicker and give you access to more powerful seasonal artifact perks. perks, right? So keep in mind, you want to store as many weekly bounties as possible. Those offer the most experience. And here's where to find them: Variks on Europa has a couple, then in the Cosmodrome, Sha-Han has a couple, in the Dreaming City, Petra Venge has a couple, then you're actually gonna have a lot from the clan bounty Hawthorn in the Tower. And a quick tip involving her, you can actually complete the Crucible Clan Bounties in private match. So you don't actually have to go in and win a bunch of games, you simply both be on the same team, set it to collision with the lowest score, capture a flag, and get the W. Super easy weekly clan bounty done. And then on the moon, the lectern of enchantment has two and also Eris Morn has another two. And then in Xur's treasure hoard, store horse has one. And finally on Neomuna, Nimbus has one guys. Now, once you get as many of those as possible, fill the rest of the slots with daily bounties that offer slightly less experience. And then once you're full on those, if you have any more slots, you can fill them with repeatable bounties that offer the least amount of experience. However, as you can see right here, some bounties are being depreciated in the Edge of Fate. So if you hold on to, for example, Gunsmith bounties, they're just going to disappear and you'll get no experience for them. But moving on from there, guys, let's talk about some of the things that are going to Let's talk about another common tip that actually has been changed and that is resource prepping. What resources should you hold on to? Well importantly guys, you actually have upgrade modules going away and also in accompanying this, your light level will be reset. So, you're gonna be 10 light level, power level, gear score, whatever it's called these days, when you log in to the Edge of Fate. And therefore, if you're not at the max gear score right now, normally you'd be infusing gear up trying to get there before the next expansion. But in this case, no. Don't waste resources infusing anything and don't buy any more upgrade modules. Additionally, all of these world currencies are being depreciated as soon as the Edge of Fate releases. Right now, you can often turn these in for glimmer at the Cryptarch, but they're going to be absolutely worthless as soon as the Edge of Fate launches. So, turn them in for glimmer right now, or else they're just being wasted. Alright, but in terms of other stuff like enhancement cores and ascendant shards and stuff, you may still want to stock up on. Those will be relevant. However, something you actually do not want to stock up on is exotic engrams, guys. This is a big change from the normal prep tips. Normally, you want as many exotic engrams as you so that as soon as the new expansion releases you can decrypt them all and rank up the Cryptarch to focus the new exotic armor but in the Edge of Fate the only way to get the new exotic armor pieces for your three characters is by beating the legendary campaign with that character and on top of that they're removing Cryptarch ranks entirely in the Edge of Fate But most importantly, all exotic armor you're gonna get in the Edge of Fate will be the armor 3.0 version and therefore it is going to have a certain armor archetype. Here is an example of what the Titan Worm Gods are gonna look like as an armor 3.0. So you can see this is the Brawler archetype. Guaranteed main stat spike is a melee, then the secondary spike is health and you have a random tertiary spike. But Bungie revealed that all exotic armor is treated as a tier 2 in the Edge of Fate, so the maximum stats you can get in the Edge of Fate with an exotic armor piece is 63. Now, you do get +15 for Masterworking instead of +12 now, but you miss out on the Artifice slot. So the math works out guys that if you have a high stat piece of exotic armor think like 66 or above especially it's actually gonna be better it's gonna have more stats than anything you can get in the edge of fate and therefore what a lot of people are doing right now in this final week is actually farming exotic armor So I have a couple of huge tips to help you do that. First of all, if you have any exotic engrams either in your inventory right now or in your seasons pass, turn them in now. Go to the Cryptarch and you can target focus specific exotics, but make sure to put the ghost mod on that boosts the stat you want. A really good one, guys, is mobility. You can see I'm putting a mobility boost on for my Titan. Now, why is that? Well, mobility is becoming weapons in the Edge of Fate. So the weapon stat will influence how much damage you deal to minor enemies below 100, and then above 100, it will influence the damage you deal to bosses. So a really important stat to have. Now we're going to go over these stat changes in more detail later in the video, but if you want to farm more exotic engrams, first of all, lost sectors are a pretty good way to get exotic engrams if you're solo, especially if you can do like the higher difficulty, you're going to be getting quite a lot of them. On top of that guys, if you can farm grandmaster nightfalls, especially if you have access to the grandmaster nodes, you can pick the easier ones like Insight Terminus, like you're seeing in the background gameplay, or Warden of Nothing. Those are going to drop a lot of exotics, guys, and they'll actually give you more Ascendant Shards and stuff, which is the resources you need to focus exotic engrams into particular exotics. But also, if you are farming Grandmaster Nightfalls, be sure to use your Tome of Want and your Tonics, guys. The Enriching Tonics are still working. As you can see right here, you can actually put the one on that gives you more glimmer. And that is super important because, again, focusing exotics costs a ton of glimmer. On top of that, guys, in your Tome of Want, as you can see, you can put this one on that gives you a higher chance to get, again, these valuable resources. and exotic engrams so you can be farming grandmaster nightfalls getting exotics from those and then have your tome giving you even more exotic engrams and resources to focus them right so very very efficient farm there guys um but Not only are people farming exotic armor, I think exotic armor is by far the most important thing to farm right now, guys, because it's just going to be outright better. The high stat ones you get right now are just better than anything you can get. But people are also farming legendary armor. Now why is that? Because legendary armor in the edge of fate will have the new tiering system. So a tier 5 piece of armor guys, it's gonna have base 75 stats plus 15 for master working. Legendary armor is gonna have actual armor set bonuses that are very useful as well guys. So like legendary armor is just going to replace your current armor. So why the heck are people farming it right now? Why would you maybe want to farm it right now? Well, it's because can get stat combinations right now that are going to become impossible to get in the edge of fate. Now why is that? Well with the new armor 3.0 system you're now going to get drops of armor that belong to six different armor archetypes and here is a list of all of them and it's going to show their main stat their secondary stat and the tertiary stat is always random. But you'll notice there's some combos that don't exist so you can't get main stat super, secondary stat weapons or vice versa Which is gonna be a big mobility spike and a big intellect spike right now But those are the two main stats you want for like a raid DPS phase if you get over a hundred weapons you do bonus boss damage with your weapons and then if you get over 100 super you get bonus super damage So what some people are doing and what you may want to do is farm those impossible to get stat combos right now before they become impossible to get. So as you can see right here, this is the final day today, Monday of the Grasp of Avarice being the featured dungeon. So we put that on the Master Difficulty where you can get... Artifice armor and the goal is to get something exactly like this I'm super jealous my teammate got this role but like this is insane and again This is a combo of stats that is impossible to get in the edge of fate So you may want to invest in these impossible to get combos right now but Don't worry if you don't want to farm master dungeons guys a Way easier method is to simply go to the helm go to failsafe And as you can see when you focus armor here If you have any leftover of those echoes engrams, they give you super high stat armor right here And again, you can get those stat combos. Make sure to put on like again mobility or super armor or intellect, whatever it is, on your ghost, so you're influencing the drops you can get. But yes, you can get those super high stat combos just from doing this. So if you have extra Echo Engrams, go over there and try to get those impossible stat combos now before you can't. Now, speaking of stats, let's go over the main points of the stat overhaul coming in the Edge of Fate. So, the top three stats: Mobility, Resilience, and Recovery are all changing into Weapons, Health, and Class. And if you're wondering about the old effects, well, here's how they're being transferred. For example, everyone will be treated like they have 100 resilience, so you won't lose out on any damage mitigation. But this may change your priorities in what armor you're going for. In fact, guys, on screen right now, and you can pause to read, are going to be the exact effects of all six stats in the Edge of Fate. Now, all of them, again, can go above 100%. 100 now. So if you've invested in way too much recovery for your warlock and you had 110 recovery, well now that's not useless. You're gonna be getting an overshield when you use your class ability and stuff like that. On top of that, it's going to count literally every stat number when determining these effects. So no longer do you have to get to multiples of 10. 81 health is going to be better than 80 health, right? Now with all that being said guys, I do have to warn you I think it's more important to farm exotic armor than legendary armor and the reason is that when you get access to those armor set bonuses in the Edge of Fate a lot of those are more powerful than like any combinations of stats and an example is the Crucible Armor 4-piece bonus guys as you can see well it gives you special ammo progress for picking up orbs of power That's actually insane. I mean put on an attrition orbs weapon and combo that with again like any build that produces a lot of orbs you're gonna be spitting out special ammo and again like is that worth a little bit of a reduction in stats or getting these you know illegal combos of stats? Probably right like these armor set bonuses make a big difference in the Edge of Fate. So exotics though are just gonna be straight up worse basically so get those while you can. With one exception actually, and that is to the exotic class items. Guys, in the Edge of Fate, all exotic class items that you have will be instantly transferred to the Armor 3.0 versions. Now that does mean you'll lose the Artifice Armor mod slot, but you'll gain this. Like this is what they're going to look like. You're getting a massive boost to your stats as soon as the edge of fate launches. If you have any prismatic builds that use those. And so, you know, a tip here is that if you have any combos you want to get now and kind of get them ready for the edge of fate, maybe go and get them now and then Right off the bat, like if you're doing legendary campaign, you might want to be using a prismatic build just because it gets such a boost to stats. You're gonna be instantly propelled often above 100 of certain stats. Remember, the archetype is chosen by the left perk, the left like spirit, and the tertiary stat is chosen by the right. So if I have spirit of armamentarium that's related to grenades, I'm probably getting a grenade stat as my tertiary with those exotic class items. But speaking of prismatic builds, however, I will say there has been some pretty significant nerfs to prismatic aspects, reducing the amount of fragment slots they have. So here is a list of what is affected. Guys, so for example, your Consecration Titan, yeah, it is losing a fragment slot. If you have Hellion on your... your warlock, you're losing a fragment slot. So just keep these in mind, guys. You might want to put on as many fragments as you're gonna keep in the Edge of Fate, like your primary four, and then have the other one that you're using right now be okay with disappearing. Now speaking about prepping for the upcoming meta guys, we actually know all of the new seasonal artifact perks coming in the Edge of Fate. Now I'm not going to go over everything. I actually have a video where I do go over everything that's linked right up above if you want to see it. But long story short, Solar... Strand and Stasis especially are going to be featured in the Edge of Fate with Solar getting some massive bonuses. I'll just give you one example: getting rapid primary hits with a Solar weapon will make you radiant. That's insane. That's one of the earlier ones you unlock. So get your Solar weapons and stuff like that ready to go in the Edge of Fate. Now, I also want to mention one additional trick I often use, and that is the fact that you can go to Bungie.net and you can access the previous season's Seasons Pass. As you can see right here, like I go ahead and withdraw an exotic engram from Season of Revenant and I get it right here, right? So I actually have to go back and make sure I withdraw all that stuff in that Seasons Pass. But you don't have to grab stuff from your Seasons Pass right now, especially stuff like glimmer, right? Like you might want to save big chunks of 50,000 glimmer. If you don't need it right now, save it. And then you can access it in the edge of fate when you're down bad on those resources, right? And guys the final prep tip I have for you is related to the new gear bonus feature coming in the Edge of Fate. So on your seasonal artifact as you can see you will actually get weapon damage bonuses for equipping new weapons and bonus damage resistance for for equipping brand new armor pieces and how much you get is influenced by the tier. So if you put on a tier one weapon, it does like 2% more damage, but if you go all the way up to a tier five weapon, it does 10% bonus damage. Now, how does that influence you right now? Well, it's because Bungie has featured exotics. Instead of, you know, making you only use a very small amount of the brand new exotics, they have a big list of featured exotics that all count as new gear. So, you can see them all right here. Here's the exhaustive list I'm gonna put on screen. But very importantly, stuff like the Graviton Lance, stuff like the Choir of One is gonna be featured. So... What that should mean, because I assume exotics will be treated just as a tier 5 and give you the max damage bonus, even if they don't, it doesn't matter, you use a Graviton Lance in the Edge of Fate, if you're doing the Legendary Campaign or whatever, it should just do like 10% more damage. It should get that new gear bonus because it's a featured... Gear same with any of the exotic armors that are on that featured list if you put them on you just get bonus damage resistance that you wouldn't otherwise get so maybe try to plan your builds that you're going to use in the edge of fate around this featured list And so guys, there you have it.
