Destiny 2 Act 2 Update Overview
What's up guys, Houndish here, and today we're jumping in with a preview for Act 2 of Episode Revenant. And of course there will be some new content, but obviously there's a lot more to the update than that. This is probably going to be the biggest update we have between now and the launch of Episode 3. And so it's worth jumping in and talking about the mid-episode patch, a bunch of fixes that Bungie will introduce, and various sandbox changes.
On top of that, there are going to be rewards bonuses, Bungie are handing out some free weapons that are pretty juicy, there's extra info about how that affects the economy, and we will touch on the new activity content for Act 2, a bunch of weapons that are being introduced, new armor sets, events, and more. So if you want a roundup of what to expect overall, hopefully the video is useful. Also, get subscribed to the channel, as it keeps you guys up to date and helps me reach a wider audience. But now, let's get into it.
And so first up, let's talk about some of the fixes and reward updates that we'll see as part of the mid-episode pack. Act 2 of Revenant begins on the 19th of November, that's also when we'll get the update. And for some quick fixes, firstly, Bungie are fixing an issue where the Yesterday's Question hand cannon wasn't functioning properly with the Headseeker perk.
Bungie had also said on Reddit that they were aiming for the mid-season patch for the Tether fix in the Vespas Host dungeon. They haven't confirmed that since they suggested it a couple of weeks ago though, so we're gonna have to wait and see on that front. They have however confirmed that they're fixing the ignition bug, and they say solar ignition damage will be increased against all bosses except the Vespers host boss Ranex Unified, and this should return damage to pre-revenant functionality, so at least that one is confirmed to be getting a fix.
And separately, Bungie have fixed the weapon perk RNG bug that players discovered a few weeks back, and as a form of compensation for players, on November 19th, up until December 3rd, the Vespers host dungeon will offer double drops for encounter and activity completions, so it's going to be an excellent time to farm for the legendary robot. rewards. Plus Banshee in the Tower is going to hand out a bunch of weapons, and they come from a variety of activities. We can see though that includes Rose, Multimac, the Indebted Kindness, that's going to have a very good role with Loose Change and Volt Shark.
Then there's Compass Rose, the Hot Head Adept, which is cool to have available again, plus the Chill Inhibitor, which is going to have Spike Grenades, Envious Arsenal and Bade and Switch. All of the weapons will be available to pick up, the only caveat is that for the dungeon weapons, players will need to have completed the dungeon at least once. So that will also require dungeon ownership, but all of those weapons are certainly pretty solid, a couple of standouts, and be sure to visit Banshee on the 19th.
DMG had also confirmed that those won't require any additional currencies to pick up so they're totally free. On top of those changes though, we are seeing a reasonably significant sandbox update for mid season. So for the supers that you can see on screen, Banshee have said they'll be changing the damage based recharge.
parameters for the Roman Supers against PvE enemies, and increasing the amount of Super energy gained when damaging combatants by roughly three times what it is today. So that in itself is significant, but they've also said they're upping the damage that Roaming Supers do against Champions by between 30 and 55% depending on the Super, and so those are pretty positive overall. There's also some exotic changes which will affect PvE, and for armor, The Point Contact Cannon Brace will allow Amplified Lightning Bolt to now do 100% increased damage over base, which is up from 50. And Lightning Strike Defeats will now also refund melee energy.
Then on the Raiden Flux, the Synapse Junctions perk will allow Super Damage benefit to be increased to 20% per stack, which is up from 14%. And the max benefit is now 70% damage increase, instead of just 50. Plus we've got Balados Wrathweavers, and they're increasing the Shatter damage to 150%, up from 100%. And they fixed an issue where enemies were inconsistently getting the boosted shadow damage, which led to decreased overall damage. And shadow damage now shows as a yellow number to aid with visibility of the perk.
There are also some changes that affect weapons, and for the Micro Missile frame, on Mountaintop they've increased the velocity that players can generate with the rocket jumping blast. Plus they're increasing Telesto detonation damage by 20% in PvE, which is an interesting one that could potentially be pretty good. But there's also the risk that Telesto could take over the universe, so look out for that one.
Otherwise, there's some PvP specific tuning as well, that includes smaller adjustments to weapons and otherwise prismatic. We'll see the addition of a blanket 15% additional ability cooldown penalty inside of the crucible, and that stacks on top of the current overall penalty of 15%. Bungie have said they want to do some additional tuning for prismatic, but it's a bit complex for this particular patch, so overall there's going to be a 30% ability cooldown penalty inside of the crucible on those abilities plus for storm's edge they're reducing the height of the damage impulse from 5 meters to 3.7 meters reducing damage resistance against players from 53 to 45 and they've moved it from tier 3 to tier 1 super cooldown so storm's edge will see a reasonably significant change but there are also some other smaller adjustments and on the full breakdown of the PvP changes, I'll link that video down below. Next up though, let's speak about some of the new content that we're going to see, and the Act 2 activity, of course, is the Tomb of Elders, and this will be a new wave-based mode inspired by the original Prison of Elders, which Bungie revealed in their stream last week. And there'll be two versions of the activity, Contest of Elders, will be a wave-based challenge mode essentially, where the more encounters we complete, and additional objectives, the more favor we'll earn, and that increases the rewards that will drop.
but also makes the activity more difficult. And then if we underperform, the activity will get easier to complete, but the amount of rewards will also be reduced. And otherwise, it's a completely farmable activity, which we know we'll be dropping the Revenant-themed weapons, as well as some splicer weapons. And we're going to get the introduction of Scavenger's Fate, which is the shotgun from this set, the Noxious Vetiver, which is the ARC SMG, and the Grid Skipper, which is returning.
But on top of that, this activity is bound to drop all of the revenant weapons, and given that they're not craftable, it's obviously designed in part to be a way for players to be able to farm and farm away to potentially get those juicy rolls. But if you want the potential perk rolls for the new weapons, I'll link them down below. And otherwise, as we see with the acts in these episodes, we'll see additional artifact perks introduced, so we'll get authorized mods melee, and the armor energy cost of all armor mods affecting your melee are discounted. Emergency flare.
where emergency reinforcements consume all but one armor charge. Then we have the thicker bit where rapid final blows while surrounded grant you armor charge. Then when surrounded your weapons have increased handling and sword gains increased charge rate. Then for creative orbs, the first time we break a target's shield or break the shield of a guardian using their super, we create an orb of power. And the boost for that is that picking up an orb of power, an elemental pickup or a tangle grants you a small amount of health.
And finally there's arc compounding where arc sources deal increased damage. to blinded targets. So there's a couple of functional mods there, some of the armor charge perks are okay, but we've certainly seen feedback in the community that these mods aren't necessarily very exciting.
Give us your thoughts below. That is the bulk of the sort of episode update itself, keep in mind we'll also get additional story steps for the second part of the episode, so I'm sure those will be available in the last city hub from one of the fallen vendors, and we should be able to complete all of the act 2 parts of the story in one go. But moving away from the Revenant specific content, a couple of extra weapons which we won't go into full detail about, but for the Iron Banner, we're going to see that return on the 26th of November, so it's the week after the update.
And there's the Tenacious Mastery, which is the first rocket frame sidearm with stasis damage. And there are a bunch of decent rolls on this weapon, but the one that probably has most players excited is the fact that the weapon has Chill Clip in the second trade slot, which is a pretty strong bonus and it can pair up with Air Trigger. which is good because it gives increased ammo reserves, as well as increased reload speed in the air, but also it can get loose change.
So that's just one possibility, and again it will come back with the Iron Banner, which is also getting some new armor this episode. On the 26th of November, another event weapon coming in December, starting on the 10th of December we've got the Dornin, and the new weapon for that is Mistral Lift, which is an adaptive burst void linear fusion rifle. There's perks like Withering Gaze, Clown Cartridge, Envious Assassin, and Reconstruction in the first trade slot. which can pair up in the second with things like Bane and Switch, Firing Line, Precision Instrument, and there's Vorpal Weapon and High Ground there as well. So that'll be a nice one to play around with.
And of course it has Vyced Stinger as well as the Dornan Origin trait, so again we can look out for that one on December 10th. Plus Bungie showed off the Dragon themed armor sets for the Dornan this year, which look pretty good. And Eververse will be updated with a handful of cosmetic things throughout the next act as well, like the Doki Doki armor that Bungie showed off, and the Street Fighter collaboration items as well. ghost shells, mask ornaments and some finishers.
So not sure if there are specific dates for them, but all of that stuff dropping during Act 2 of Revenant. For today guys, that is what we have to speak about. I think overall, as a seasonal update, and the content that we'll get in the months that sort of follows this patch, it actually makes for a decent mid-episode update overall.
There's been some feedback about the new content for Revenant specifically, Tomb of Elders, and specifically the rewards part. I think players had hopes that we'd get some more sort of nostalgic items from that activity. I definitely agree there was a great opportunity for Bungie to have done something like that, but still, as a content drop in the middle of an episode, I think it'll keep a lot of players busy until the sort of middle or end of December, and then we'll be looking at Act 3 dropping in early January.
If you've enjoyed the video, guys, a rating below really helps us out. Let us know your thoughts in the comments as well, and get subscribed if you want to see more Destiny content, as I appreciate you tuning in as always. But for now, I hope you guys have an awesome day.
