Top Exotic Armor Buffs in Heresy
What is up guys, it's your boy Rick Kakas and today we are going to be showcasing the top 5 exotic armor pieces getting absolutely massive buffs in the next upcoming episode, Episode Heresy. So if you haven't dug through your vault, taken these out, infused them and maybe even masterworked them, it might be time because these could become meta very, very soon. And so, let's get started.
Now, first off, this information comes from this week's colossal weekly update detailing all of the buffs and nerfs coming in the episode Heresy Sandbox Update. 39 different exotics were affected, and that's just exotics. We have weapon perks, weapon archetypes, and more. If you want to know literally every single one of those changes, I already did a video on that linked right up above. But in this video, we're going to be focusing on the biggest winners in terms of those exotic armor pieces.
The stuff that's going to be outright significantly better the second you log on to play Heresy. So let's start here with the Titan. There's two I want to shout out. And the first one is actually the Capri's Horn. Now taking a look at this exotic helmet in game.
First of all, solar final blows recharge your barricade. And when you use your barricade, a blast of solar energy that scorches targets will appear. And you can see that effect in the... background gameplay right here so what is changing well it now is going to send three waves of flame instead of just one these waves will no longer return towards the barricade they only travel outward but that is still a significant increase to just the output of potential damage also the tracking on the waves has been enhanced so you don't have to perfectly line up your barricade anymore and combatants damage by these waves are enveloped in a sunspot and players are enveloped if they are defeated.
And lastly, it now requires a solar super to be equipped to create the flame waves from the barricade. So why am I so excited about this? Well, it's simply because of its effects on prismatic because as you can see right here, prismatic actually gets Dranger's Lash.
So you summon your barricade. and then you're going to suspend targets in front of you, and that means if you have the Kepri's Horn as well, you're going to suspend those targets and also blast them with solar energy. Another important thing, guys, is that right now there is no way to cause sunspots on the entire Prismatic Titan kit.
Like, there's no aspects, there's no fragments that will spawn a sunspot. And sunspots are cracked. They give you a massive amount of healing for standing within them. So...
Prismatic Titan now suddenly gaining access to a consistent way to make sunspots is a big deal, especially because, and maybe I'm cheating a bit by putting this here, but this buff also affects Spirit of the Horn for your exotic class item. So you get those triple solar blasts, better tracking, and sunspot generation all from your class item, and then you can pair it with, oh, I don't know, Spirit of Inmost Light, as you can see right here. which is going to improve your ability regen. So new and improved Spirit of the Horn, plus Inmost Light to spawn it way more often, plus Dranger's Lash, you're going to be absolutely spamming the most juiced class ability in the entire game. That is going to be crazy.
But moving on from there, guys, the other Titan exotic I want to mention is going to be the Insurmountable Skullfort. So again, another exotic helmet here. And what this actually does is make kills with arc melee abilities, trigger health regeneration, and restore melee energy.
Now, it's very fun to use in low-level content. As you can see, you can basically go infinite with this. But in higher-level content, the second you don't kill something, the entire chain falls apart, and it kind of sucks.
So the buff, as you can see right here, is going to make it so that it now grants energy to......you. arc melee abilities when hitting targets with any melee attack. So what that means is that if you don't get a kill on, let's say, a yellow bar, you're still going to get a chunk of melee energy back. You're not just going to be screwed anymore.
And so here's what you get the most melee energy back. It's going to be powered melees. After that, you get a little bit less for non-glave unpowered melees, while knockout is active.
And then finally, the least amount of melee energy you get is for unpowered melees, including glaives. And again, this is a huge deal because it means you can just use a glaive or just go around punching things with knockouts, and you're going to be getting chunks of melee energy back so you can get back up to that full charge a lot faster. This is just going to make the Skullfort way more consistent and easy to use, and offers you a way out if things go wrong and you don't get that kill. Not to mention, you know, you do have access to the brand new Thunderclap melee, also on Prismatic, which does a...
ton of damage so you can bring that into a little bit higher level content and still be clapping with that thing literally thunderclapping with that thing but again if something goes wrong you can easily work your way back with a much more synergistic armor piece after this buff but after that guys let's get off the titan and talk about the hunter there's one i really do want to call out here and that is going to be the sealed ahamkara grasps so What exactly does that do right now? Well, as you can see right here, it says that dealing melee damage reloads your currently equipped weapon and charged melee final blows reload all weapons. It provides a large benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons and movement speed and jump height after dealing melee damage.
And you can see these effects happening in the background gameplay. These were incredibly underused except for very niche like boss damage scenarios where you would use your melee to insta-reload like heavy weapons and stuff like that but again they saw almost no play. They're getting a complete rework. So here's what the intrinsic perk does now. Powered melee and finisher final blows grant nightmare fuel, increasing handling and airborne effectiveness while active freshly drawn weapons deal additional damage and grant nightmare fuel on final blows.
Gaining nightmare fuel reloads all holstered weapons. So what that means is that you can just get a melee or finisher to start the chain, and then you just swap to a weapon, get a kill, get more nightmare fuel. And then you can just be swapping back and forth to your weapons. Every single kill you get will give you more nightmare fuel and will reload all of your holstered weapons. So as long as you have like...
a powerful special and heavy or even a primary or double special whatever you're running you just swap kill swap kill swap kill swap kill every single time you're going to a freshly completely reloaded weapon and also those weapons do bonus damage and this all hinges on the bonus damage if it's a significant amount of bonus damage this could be absolutely insane like just having constantly reloading uh weapons just for swapping them and getting a significant amount of bonus damage could really make these see a lot of play but again it's a complete rework so we don't really know how effective it's going to be but it is something to watch out for moving on from there guys last but certainly not least we have the warlock and the first one i want to shout out here is the verity's brow so taking a look at this thing in game right now it says weapon final blows with a damage type matching your grenade grant death which provide a grenade damage bonus and grant you grenade energy. When you have death throws and throw a grenade, nearby allies gain greatly increased grenade regeneration for a short time. This always did see some niche play because it is a very powerful exotic for sure. And you can see it working in the background gameplay. However, I want to point your attention to that death throws timer, guys.
As soon as I get to times five, it runs out. It's gone. Now keeping that in mind, let's look at the buff. So it now uses a meter to track death throws.
So the new durations are at death throws times one, you have eight seconds. Times two, seven, times three, six, times four, five, and times five, four. Now that may seem like a bit of a nerf.
I had 10 seconds of times five in that clip. But when one tier's duration elapses, the buff will downgrade to the next lower tier rather than expiring entirely. So instead of 10 seconds...
To use Death Throws, I have 8 seconds plus 7 seconds plus 6 seconds plus 5 seconds plus 4 seconds, which is going to be 30 seconds until that effect is completely gone. So again, it's going to be massively more consistent. It's not going to be all or nothing with that 10 second timer. In addition, the bonus grenade recharge per tier has changed to the following as well. And again, this is maybe cheating a bit, but this also affects Spirit of Verity.
on your exotic class item. So you now gain bonus grenade on recharge rate, but it provides 50% of the base Verity's Brow Exotic. So you're not quite going to get as much, but as you can see right here, guys, you can combo that effect with other exotic perks.
Mainly for the Warlock, you have Spirit of Osmancy, which makes your grenades recharge quicker on hits, which is a massive boost to grenade regen. So Spirit of Osmancy plus a new and improved... Much easier to activate Spirit of Verity is going to be, I think, pretty awesome next season for any sort of like Grenadier build on the Warlock. But then moving on from there, guys, the last exotic I'm shouting out here is, you know, Return of the King, baby.
It's an old favorite, the Geomag Stabilizers. So taking a look at what this does in-game right now, it says damaging targets with Chaos Reach extends its duration. Collecting Ionic Traces grants you energy for Chaos Reach.
And you can see that effect in-game. Like a normal Chaos Reach, not shooting anything. And then, when I shoot this boss right here, I really, really extend the duration of my Chaos Reach. Now, importantly guys, this thing used to top up your Chaos Reach. When you were at about 80%, you'd just sprint around and you would massively boost your super gains.
and basically almost instantaneously get your Chaos Reach back. It was insane. I remember running Grandmaster Nightfalls with all three Warlocks with Geomag Stabilizers, just spamming them back to back to back because of how much regeneration you could actually get with these things.
And of course, you'd pick up the orbs of your teammates who are just blasting through enemies with an upgraded Chaos Reach. Well, keeping all that in mind, here's what the buff says. So... Now, they added a new perk, sprinting while near max bolt charge will top it off.
So, bolt charge is a brand new arc keyword coming in Episode Heresy, and you're going to get stacks of bolt charge by just using your arc abilities. And there's some other ways to get bolt charge as well through fragments and so on, but as long as you can get to six stacks of bolt charge, you can once again sprint around in circles and... top off your chaos reach which is insane for how often you can use them now on top of that they also increase the super energy gained from ionic traces to seven percent from currently two percent so even if the bolt charge thing doesn't work as often as we'd like you're also going to be getting massive chunks of your super when you build into spawning ionic traces and i think those two things combined could bring the geomags back because again in their heyday they were truly absurd in both PvE and PvP.
