full hunt for all 12 Praxic Blade crystals in Destiny 2: Renegades.

Each crystal unlocks a different lightsaber color, including the rare Taken Saber “Darksaber.”

  • Multiple Equilibrium runs produced no crystal despite improved clear times, including several sub‑30-minute attempts.

  • After many “non-optimal” runs and mounting RNG frustration, teammate Cypher finally got the Darksaber on a slow 53-minute clear.

  • Final collection showcased all 12 crystals: Green, Blue, Red, Orange, Magenta, Purple, White, Gradient, Yellow, Cyan, Indigo, and Taken Saber.

Decisions

• Farming philosophy:

  • Deliberately avoided trivial stationary farm methods for Yellow in favor of more active modes like Onslaught.

  • Chose Master/Grandmaster contracts for Cyan and Indigo to combine challenge with better efficiency.

• Dungeon strategy:

  • Used a teammate who had completed way-between so everyone could grab all artifacts in a single Equilibrium run.

  • Prioritized optimizing run times but ultimately accepted that RNG, not speed, decided when Darksaber would drop.

Action Items

• Yellow crystal:

  • Plan for a no-death session; consider Onslaught for engaging kills or Whisper Abyss Thrall for maximum safety.

• Cyan and Indigo crystals:

  • Focus on high-level Lawless Frontier contracts, preferably on Master/Grandmaster difficulty.

  • Expect Cyan to be manageable post-buff, but budget extra time and patience for Indigo.

  • Schedule many full Equilibrium dungeon clears rather than boss checkpoints.

  • Bring at least one teammate with way-between completed to unlock all artifacts in a single run and streamline repeated farming.

Today I'm setting out on a quest to get every lightsaber color in Destiny 2. Yes, even that one. And these! The way you acquire each crystal is different, however almost all of them involve some degree of RNG.

So let's get right into it, because this is going to take a while. Alright, so there are a total of 12 different crystals you can get for the Praxic Blade. Of these 12, I already have a few just through other gameplay and videos. The green and blue crystals are given to you in the campaign and the post-game quest for Renegades. The red crystal is acquired randomly through Frontier invasions, which I have a whole video on that you may have already seen.

Then the orange and magenta crystals can be found as rare drops from jobs on Mars and Venus respectively. I ended up finding both of these in a video where I spent 12 hours straight in Lawless Frontier. This leaves us with a remaining handful of crystals to go after. Of these, I'm going to start with the Yellow Crystal.

This one can be found through the Praxic Professional exotic order. You have a relatively small chance to get an exotic order every time you complete a legendary order. Thankfully, I got pretty lucky and had this specific exotic order drop for me during our "Can the Empire Beat Kings Fall?" video.

But how do we complete this order anyway? Well, it's straightforward and not. You need to get a shit ton of kills with the Praxic Blade and an Expert difficulty pinnacle up.

However, this works similarly to old D1 exotic bounties. If you die, you lose all of your progress and go back to zero. Now, the easiest way to do this is just to fire up the Whisper mission and go kill Thrall in the Abyss area for like 10 minutes. While this order is active, You kinda can't run out of ammo for the sword, and good luck dying to any of these thrall. But I didn't like that idea.

It felt too easy, too cheap, and I want to really earn these crystals. So instead of this, I'm gonna get my kills in Onslaught. What?! This is a moment in history!

It's not the hardest thing in the world, but it's a bit more interesting to me than sitting in one place for 10 minutes. Of course, we can't properly begin our adventure, though, until we've communed with Bucket. Talk to Bucket, of course.

Oh, he has nothing to say. So, we need 600 kills y'all are saying? It is 600. God. I slayed out an onslaught for a while, but unfortunately, I did end up dying to a Cabal drop pot. So we have to start over.

Oh, oh no. Yeah, it's gone. All right. Now we got it. We got a back out.

Oh, that's rough. That's rough, chat. This time, I was a little more careful, and it took all 25 rounds of Onslaught, but I did manage to complete my order.

Yeah, let's go! Oh, yeah, the Dark Matter Crystal. Let's see it.

Oh man, that looks good. That looks really good, especially with the yellow Praxic hilt already. With the Yellow Saber claimed, it's time to move on to the Indigo and Cyan Crystals. I'm specifically going for Cyan first, but if we get Indigo on the way, that would be really nice. The Cyan Crystal is a really interesting one.

You have a chance to find it whenever you complete a high-level contract in the Lawless Frontier. High-level contracts have a chance to drop when you complete a rare or legendary contract, But the chance of receiving the cyan crystal from one of these contracts is also relatively small. However, before I did this, the drop rate was actually even smaller, which was actually unintentional and Bungie raised the drop chances considerably on the day that I attempted this. It's still very rare, don't get me wrong. But if you have a week one or two cyan crystal, consider yourself very lucky.

Shiny Bucket when? Shiny Bucket is Golden Bucket, dude. I wish my plating was another color.

Gold would be nice. Bucket wants Golden Plating, and I think we should give Bucket Golden Plating. Bungie, if I could ask one thing.

At some point, maybe in Shadow and Order, I don't know how hard this would be to code, add in a little Easter egg or something you can do, or a triumph you can complete. Maybe it's like, use the Recon Shank like a thousand times, and it makes Bucket's armor gold. That would be so heat.

Also no exotic contracts, so no cyan crystal. Diamond camo bucket! Yes, dude! That would be awesome! Alright, watch this guys, indigo crystal, first try.

Emotional support bucket. Nope. Oh my god, this is one of the most persistent launch bugs. Look, you know what? We keep talking about bucket and I'm getting launch bugs, let's just go visit him real quick.

I'm getting launch bugged here too. What the fuck? Change a mod on your helmet.

It fixes the launch bug. Really? There's no way, right? Dude, this game is made of like sticks. What wisdom will Bucket impart upon us today?

So, the Imperium is backed by a sentient planet. How do you extort something like that? He wants to extort Saturn?

Anyway, I then did a lot more jobs trying to complete contracts, but I really wasn't having any luck. Dude. Dude. Oh, we're getting cooked here guys.

We're getting cooked. So I had to get a procedure done. They wanted me like 24 hours before the procedure to take like mega laxatives. Like they want you clean.

And so I did. I followed their instructions. It was like the day prior.

Brother. That shit is no joke. There comes a point where you're sitting on that toilet like fucking dredge and bail, right? You're like, "I have nothing left to give." They had me put Miralax in Gatorade like three times and I took a pill on top of that. It was crazy.

Exotic contract. I'm crazy! And Indigo Crystal, watch. Watch, I'll leave this whole thing uncut. Okay.

Complete an Exfil from a contested or invasion job. Okay, so this works. We'll also, we need to go, uh, to another planet anyway. If you didn't know, higher difficulties will actually grant more progress towards these contracts.

So your best bet when farming is going to be to run Master or Grandmaster runs. Wow, that recon thing goes far. Is this Golden Bucket? No, but that's not bucket bucket.

That's just a recon shang. Give us a way to give the true bucket gold plating. I stand by this. If they introduced any way to give bucket golden armor, not fake ass bucket right there, actual bucket next to the spider, no matter what it is, I will do anything I have to to give bucket that gold armor. I don't care if it's doing all the raids on master difficulty.

I will do it. Alright boys, I think we have our first chance at the cyan crystal right here. Do we get it? First try, yes we do. What?

That's crazy! Oh my god! That's crazy!

I hope I didn't just break the trigger of my controller. I kind of hit this thing pretty hard on the table just now. I didn't think that was actually gonna happen.

Oh, it looks so good! Wait, let's see this. Ah! Oh my god, it's perfect! Okay guys, we just need to get Indigo.

That was really lucky, and honestly, I think this is one of my favorites of the bunch. We now have five crystals to go, but really just two. We'll touch on these three in a bit.

I did three runs after this with no Indigo crystal in sight, so we came back the next day for round two. Paparilix says the pikas are a family. I think Paparilix might be a cult's leader.

We love bucket dude, we love bucket anyway for the rest of the day I anchored myself to Europa and after six long jobs That's a man. This is a safe space to vent your your work related stories. I pour but Was that it I'm like 90% sure that was it yes Oh dude, let's go!

It looks so bad! Like, I say it looks bad because look, this is blue. And this is indigo.

That's the same color. You know what that means. Actually, wait, wait, wait.

Wait, wait. Before... We have to do something first. We have to visit the shop.

Now that we have all of the earnable ones minus the Darksaber, that is the last one we need to get and we are gonna get that. I do need to complete the collection. I told you I would get all of the lightsaber colors and I meant it.

We got green and blue, white, and then we have the purple. Oh, look at that! With 11 out of the 12 crystals acquired, we are so close to the finish line. But you know what that means.

One to go. The Darksaber is acquired randomly through full completions of the new dungeon, Equilibrium. You can't just farm the final boss, you have to actually run all three encounters. You can do them in any order, but you do need to do all three. I've heard the odds are somewhere around 1 in 20 to get the Darksaber, PER COMPLETION OF THE WHOLE DUNGEON.

This absolutely has the potential to be the longest hunt of them all, and I'm a bit worried that I may have used up all my luck on the cyan crystal, so let's see what happened. My first run took a while, since we actually went through and did all of the extra steps for the way between quest. This is the post-dungeon quest that gives you the catalyst for the Praxix. If you do it yourself, you'll need to clear the dungeon multiple times, but if someone in your team has already done it, then you can actually collect all three artifacts in one dungeon run.

So that's what we did. This is it, this is it, this is it. Nice!

It's settin' in, this is gonna be quite the grind. The next run started with us finishing the way-between quest by killing this secret boss at the beginning of the dungeon. This wasn't too challenging, although I did struggle with the platforming for some reason.

When you kill the Shade of Seer, you'll get the catalyst for the lightsaber as well as access to this artifact that allows you to attune for specific weapon drops in the dungeon. Anyway though, enough distractions, let's get to work. No, it really does give you the bonus. It does give you the bonus. No, Crystal.

From RNG drops like the Indigo and Cyan crystal to the hyper painful taken crystal - this is gonna take a while.. So let's get started!
