Revenant Act 3 Key Features Overview

Lo and behold, we've got content. That's right, fellas. Today, in just a few hours, Revenant Act 3 will be dropping.

Now, I know some of you are like, Cross, there is no way you're going to convince me to get on Destiny right now. And to those folks, I completely understand. And I would actually even go a step further.

If not a single one of these points tickles the pickle, even a little, then come on over to twitch.tv slash Astro Cross. Let me know how you really feel. And for 24 hours, fellas, you won't be banned. I pinky promise. With all that being said, though, today's video is going to be going over Act- 3's biggest changes.

So for my folks out there that still give a damn, let's get started. Top change number one, we've got a brand new exotic mission launching with Act 3 called Kell's Fall. Now here we're continuing the narrative where we're going to be chasing after Fikru and of course the Echo of Rhys in what has been described as a Dracula castle-inspired fortress.

Now this exotic mission is anything like the exotic mission we've received in Echoes. There should be a quest tied to the mission that will of course task us with heading through the mission, uncovering secrets, and unlocking new exotic catalysts. TLDR, get ready to run this mission 12 different times.

Now, it is a bit different this time around because Revenant, we've gotten all of our story beats at once. We have not had any time gates, which hopefully means we can repeatedly do the mission and unlock all the catalysts today. We'll see how that plays out though.

Time gates and destiny are like one in the same. And I'm actually really curious how Bungie is going to roll this one out. Now, whether or not this exotic mission is going to be good.

We'll see. I will say that the Echo's exotic mission wasn't that great, but the exotic itself was amazing. So for the most part, I put up with it.

Acquire is literally one of the best weapons Bungie has ever made. And I will say the new exotic here looks pretty good, which we're going to be talking about in just a moment. Now, lastly, in terms of activities, this hasn't been confirmed yet by Bungie, so spool of warning, but it appears that Contest of Elders is also getting some additions in Act 3, as there is a triumph that you can view right now on LineGG called Vengeance Denied, which tasks you with completing the Kael's Vengeance run of Contest of Elders.

Contest of Elders. I really do hope that this is a new difficulty option or something we can at least do within the activity to increase that difficulty, and hopefully the rewards will match. Now, speaking of that exotic, this takes us to top change number two, the new exotic that we're getting. This weapon is called Slayer's Bane. Now, this is a void exotic shotgun, and just like previous exotic missions, this weapon will be craftable.

Now, we got a preview of the exotic shotgun in the Act 2 developer live stream late last year, and it's essentially a slug shotgun where it can fire a single slug round, but then once it impacts a target or a surface, it will shatter into a bunch of smaller projectiles. Additionally, when you get a kill with a shotgun, it will grant you true sight, which is really nice because that's something that was really just tied there to Hunters. Now, the shatter projectiles will weaken targets and the tracking is supposed to improve as well.

It's got a pretty unique reload where essentially you load a Void Crystal into it and it will fully reload the weapon, which is really nice because that means you don't have a slug shotgun here that you need to load one bullet at a time. It also seems like Slayer's Fang. will have intrinsic overload capabilities. As you can see that the overload icon is sitting right there next to the weapon during the dev live stream.

Now, I don't want to get into spoiler territory here, but we do have a video covering the leaks with the shotgun from a few months back, including its perk names, its exotic canvas. So if you're interested in checking that video out, we do have a link down below for that, or you can just come by our stream as we'll be going after it today. Change number three.

Along with our new exotic, we also have... two new seasonal weapons that will be launching later today with Act 3. First up, we have the Red Tape. This is going to be a stasis lineweight scound rifle. It will have rolls like Rhyme Stealer, Demolitionist, Fourth Time's a Charm, and Attrition Orbs in that third column.

Then in that fourth column, we have Headstone, Explosive Payload, and One for All. For PvP players, we also have things like Keep Away, Closing Time, or Lone Wolf in column three, as well as Rampage, High Impact Reserves, and Explosive Payload. Now, the other new weapon we're going to be getting is Heretic's Fervor. This is another stasis weapon, but this will be an aggressive frame rocket launcher, which, get this, can roll with double quickdraw.

Now, listen, hopefully this is a bug, but yes, unlike GG and D2 Foundry, this rocket launcher literally has quickdraw on both column three and column four, which, considering all the bugs that have been happening this past season, I wouldn't be surprised. Now, in a more serious note, it does come with other good perks, though. You've got auto-lunculature, you've got slide shot, you've got field prep. These are present in column four.

three, column four, you have Chill Clip, Explosive Light, Bipod, which is great for my folks that may have missed out on that bump in the night. Now moving on to change number four. We have a host of sandbox changes.

And according to the last TWAB that we received, this update is actually going to be set to release not this week, but next week, January the 14th. Which to be honest, I really like it when they break things like this up. Kind of gives me time to tackle the new content. And then the week after I could tackle sandbox stuff.

But starting on January the 14th though. Heavy Burst Sidearms is going to be receiving a PvP buff, as Bungie stated that they nerfed them a little too much back in the Into the Light update. The body shot damage is going from 30 to 33, and the crit damage is going from 48 to 52.8. SMGs are receiving a magazine buff by approximately 10%.

And the reason for this is that SMGs are currently struggling in high-end PvE as well as high-end PvP. Now, they did mention that this is not going to be... the only buff hitting SMGs.

Matter of fact, in Heresy, they're going to be receiving a slight damage increase against minor combatants. Now, Rapid Fire Auto Rifles are going to get a nice buff inside of PvP, removing a resilience gate from their optimal time to kill, which means they can actually secure the kill on Tier 10 Resilience Guardians in 0.83 seconds, with the rest of our resilience levels able to achieve the time to kill value of 0.75 seconds. Guys, I cannot stress how good of a change this is.

If you like weapons like Rufus, Chroma Rush, Hell, Tommy's matchbook. These weapons are going to be shredding next week with this body shot damage value going up from 13.5 to 13.6 and its crit damage value going from 23 to 23.1. We are definitely going to be keeping a close look at this one, guys. I think for the first time ever, rapid fire auto rivals may take over the meta.

Now, if you're concerned about high impact pulse rivals continuing to be dominant, they're actually receiving a pretty significant nerf. Now, Bungie is going to require us to land six crits in order to achieve their optimal time to kill at all costs. all resilience levels.

This means their body shot damage will be going from 22 to 21.5. Their crit damage will be going from 39.6 down to 38.7. Additionally, high impacts are also seeing their range decrease as their damage falloff scale, while aiming down sights, will be going from 1.7 to 1.6. Fellas, these are significant nerfs that are coming out here for high impact pulse rifles.

Folks, I'd love to use things like No Time to Explain, LCS Rifle. These things are going to happen. great effect on those weapons. Now, it's not all doom and gloom for Pulse Rifle users. Lineway Pulse Rifles are receiving a pretty big buff.

Bungie is obviously trying to push us to use Lineway Pulses. Think things like Bad Juju, Outbreak Perfected. Their body shot damage will be going from 17 to 20.4. Their crit damage will be going from 31.45 to 31.6.

We're actually in the process of doing a Bad Juju review, but decided to hold off until this update rolls out. But I would- love a scenario in which people are actively choosing weapons like Outbreak and Bad Juju inside of PvP. Now, Precision Hand Cannons are finally getting a buff of their own. Although, to be quite honest, it's pretty slight.

They're receiving a buff to their Intrinsic perk, which already gives them higher airborne effectiveness. It will now also reduce your ADS movement speed penalty by 10%. Now, keep in mind, this does affect weapons like Luna's Howl and Not Forgotten.

I know those two weapons are both 140 round per minute hand cannons, but they still have that same precision frame. Now, lightweight scout rifles are also getting a PvP buff as well. Their body shot damage is going from 32 to 38, which is quite a big bump.

And the crit damage is going from 64 to 64.6. Now, there's a host of different lightweight scout rifles, but Mida multi-tool should be feeling a lot better after this change. Now, finally, for our weapon changes, we have sniper rifles.

Bungie is continuing to reduce the visual flinch in PvP to a more reasonable level. Essentially, they're going to be reducing the camera roll component of flinch against players by 20%. And for my folks brave enough to use Whisper of the Worm inside of PvP, this will be reduced by 50%. Now, in terms of weapon perks that are going to be changed start of next week, Skulking Wolf will now work finally inside of PvE, where it makes enemies slightly less accurate in targeting you. Bungie actually made the comparison between Skulking Wolf and the ability Mana Core has on enemies with its perk active while airborne.

Again, it confuses targets. They essentially shoot where you were right before you activated the perk. Now, we also have Target Lock.

which Bungie is removing the custom tuning for, which caused the perk to be less effective on SMGs. Which if you didn't know, target lock normally takes 12.5% of the magazine capacity to activate, but it took 20% of your mag on SMGs, which was done because the perk was a problem on weapons like Immortal. This is going to be an interesting change because we actually might be going back to an SMG meta.

So for my Peacekeeper Titans, get ready. Now in terms of exotics, Graviton Lance's RPM is being reverted back to 300. as it literally has become one of the strongest primary weapons inside of PvE, as well as high-skill PvP lobbies. I still think the weapon's going to be really good inside of PvE, but the tone back inside of PvP, we'll have to see how this one shakes out.

Now, Malfeasance was apparently missing some of the intrinsic benefits that Precision Frames grants, so it will now include accuracy bonus in the new ADS movement speed penalty reduction that we talked about earlier. Now, finally... This is a nerf coming for my tights.

The exotic class item, which features Spirit of Alpha Lupi on Stoicism, is getting its healing impulse reduced to 30 HP when combined with thrusters. Now, our final change on the list. We have a new pursuit coming to the game in the final weeks of Revenant.

Now, I know this may seem like a long way away, but this is going to be an event similar to Riven's wishes from last year. This will task us with completing quests and essentially choosing from a list of rewards. Now Bungie hasn't officially announced the name of this yet, but we did cover the leak back in December for this.

Again, spoiler warning ahead, but this should be the Pass Is Prologue quest. And according to the leaks, this will see us complete different tasks and earn new currency called Bento Tokens, which can be redeemed for a variety of different items. Now those items include things like Artifice Armor, which will cost two tokens per armor piece, and Ascendant Alloys, Ascendant Shards, Exotic Ciphers, and even...

Bulls of Conquest, which all costs just one token. Cloud Stride, funny enough, will actually be a purchasable exotic here for three tokens. There's also going to be Adept Weapons, which is pretty wild because this has never been done before, but Adept Cataphract, Adept Igneous Hammer, Adept Hothead, Horus Lease, all of these weapons will be available to be purchased each for one token. In time to that, we'll also have the ability to purchase Mementos, all costing one token. Those being our Gambit, Nightfall, Iron Banner, Lost, Dining, games and solstice mementos now in the same leak it was also revealed to us that one of the og shaders from destiny one chatter white will be making its long way to return to destiny 2. again this is all leaks and data mines none of this has been confirmed yet but considering that this is very similar to ribbon's wishes which is what we got this time last year this doesn't seem all that surprising so there you go those are our act 3 changes which are rolling out today next week and throughout this act.

On top of that, we'll get the normal stuff that comes with the new act, including new artifact mods, new seasonal challenges, an extension there to our battle pass, which means more rewards, and oh, how can I forget, more Eververse. Outside of that, Iron Man will be returning next week on the 14th, just in time for all these sandbox changes to roll out. We'll be doing pre and post testing on everything, fellas. And if you want to check out the new exotic quests, we'll be live.

You can come check us out over on twitch.tv slash ashtross. We'll be diving into the mission. obtaining the exotic, and putting out a review as soon as we can. Fellas and ladies, thank you all for coming and watching.
