Stasis Warlock is usually underrated, but this Destiny 2 Stasis Warlock build turns it into a top‑tier PvE option across almost all activities.

Core idea: Ballados Wrathweavers + Frost Pulse + Bleak Watcher for near‑permanent Frost Armor, Winter’s Wrath damage, and extreme crowd control.

Build focuses on freezing and slowing enemies, constant status effects, and synergies between weapons, armor, and mods to keep abilities up.

All showcased gameplay is at ultimate difficulty level 2, emphasizing that this Stasis Warlock build works in high‑end PvE.

Winter’s Wrath super tech comes from Imagine, a creator known for advanced Stasis Warlock optimization.

Ballados Wrathweavers (Exotic) Effects

  • Ballados Wrathweavers has been quietly buffed multiple times and now functions like two powerful exotics in one.

  • Grants effectively unlimited class abilities by feeding back energy through fragment and armor synergies.

  • Enables consistent Frost Armor at max stacks; with Whisper of Rime you can reach 8 stacks for 50% damage resistance.

  • Frost Pulse interaction: every rift cast freezes nearby enemies and instantly grants max Frost Armor to you and allies (typically 5 stacks for them, 8 for you on pure Stasis).

  • Frost Armor duration is extended to 13 seconds with Whisper of Rime, long enough to get another class ability back and refresh.

  • Each Frost Pulse cast also grants Stasis Surge x2; this is shared with teammates and adds extra value if anyone is using Stasis weapons.

  • Winter’s Wrath interaction: each shatter hit from the super gets an extra 150% damage on the shatter component, massively boosting overall DPS.

  • Example numbers: with Ballados, shatter hits for 901 instead of 361, significantly improving total Winter’s Wrath damage.

  • Every shatter during Winter’s Wrath gives nearby teammates 4x Stasis Surges plus max Frost Armor, turning your super into a team‑wide buff.

  • When Winter’s Wrath ends, you automatically receive max Frost Armor again, helping you stay tanky as soon as you drop out of super.

Subclass and Abilities

  • Aspect: Frost Pulse is mandatory; it freezes around your rift and is the main trigger for Ballados Wrathweavers, Frost Armor, and super energy mods.

  • Aspect: Bleak Watcher is the primary crowd control tool; converting your grenade into a Stasis turret that locks down entire areas.

  • Rift: Healing Rift is the best choice; combined with 50% damage reduction from 8‑stack Frost Armor, it gives healing plus layered survivability.

  • Melee: mostly irrelevant in this Stasis Warlock build; kept as a panic button rather than a key part of the loop.

  • Grenade: Glacier Grenade is preferred for Bleak Watcher fuel and occasional direct burst damage when you need extra shatter AoE.

  • With Frost Pulse and Bleak Watcher together, you can cycle between rifts and turrets to keep the battlefield permanently frozen or slowed.

Fragments (Priority Picks)

  • Whisper of Refraction: core fragment; defeating slowed or frozen enemies returns class ability energy, enabling frequent rifts.

  • Large Frost Pulse or Bleak Watcher freezes can refund most or all of your class ability if many enemies die within the freeze.

  • Any source of slow counts for Refraction—including Praxic Blade hits and Bleak Watcher shots—so your sword contributes to rift uptime.

  • Whisper of Durance: extends slow duration on enemies, reducing pressure to kill instantly and giving more time for control.

  • Durance also extends Bleak Watcher turret duration from 25 to 30 seconds, making an already strong crowd control tool even better.

  • Whisper of Fissures: increases shatter damage by adding another damage instance to every shatter explosion, synergizing with Glacier Grenade and Winter’s Wrath.

  • Whisper of Rime: essential for any Frost Armor build; increases maximum stacks from 5 to 8, boosting DR from ~31% to 50% and extending duration from 9 to 13 seconds.

  • Rime is what lets this Destiny 2 Stasis Warlock build maintain high resistance while constantly using abilities.

Super Usage (Winter's Wrath)

  • Key technique: do not let the full freezing animation play out; instantly trigger shatter on the first projectile to speed up the freeze–shatter cycle.

  • The correct sequence is: activate Winter’s Wrath, fire the freezing shot, then immediately press shatter as soon as the first projectile appears.

  • This method gives more total hits during the super window, increasing DPS and total damage output.

  • Example from testing: around 32k total damage and 2447 DPS, which is strong for a roaming super when used correctly.

  • Ballados Wrathweavers boosts the shatter portion by 150%, making Winter’s Wrath feel like a true boss‑burn or mini‑burst super in PvE.

  • Each shatter also continuously feeds Stasis Surges and Frost Armor to allies, turning Winter’s Wrath into both damage and team support.

Weapons and Weapon Synergies

  • High Tyrant pulse rifle: standout utility primary for this Stasis Warlock crowd control build.

  • Can roll both Repulsor Brace and Withering Gaze, providing void overshields and long‑range weaken from a primary slot.

  • Withering Gaze plus Repulsor Brace is superior to Repulsor Brace + restabilizing perks here, since you get consistent overshields from a single kill without volatile stealing final blows.

  • Void overshield enables a powerful mod loop: Singularity Blade, Void Infestation, and Power From Pain.

  • This void mod combo spreads weaken, grants Devour, and effectively gives top‑tier Void Warlock benefits to your Stasis Warlock setup.

  • Praxic Blade (sword) is the recommended main weapon and is arguably the best sword in the game for PvE right now.

  • With Singularity Blade and Void Infestation, Praxic Blade can either spread weaken from your void overshield or propagate weaken by hitting already weakened targets.

  • Impact Core is crucial: because you are on a Stasis super, every Praxic Blade hit applies slow, enabling Whisper of Refraction procs purely from sword swings.

  • Hyperblade catalyst is highly recommended: blocking makes you amplified, gives movement speed, applies another 15% damage resistance, and reduces enemy accuracy.

  • Heavy weapon slot is flexible; a good choice is another weapon with Withering Gaze to apply weaken from long range.

  • Options that pair well include Refurbished A499 Surge or Solas Claw (void sword with Eager Edge) if you want additional sword mobility and void synergy.

Armor and Mods

  • Sage Protector armor set is the best‑in‑slot choice for this Ballados Wrathweavers Stasis Warlock build.

  • Hitting enemies with a sword grants class ability and grenade energy, aligning perfectly with Frost Pulse and Bleak Watcher spam.

  • With 4‑piece Sage Protector, blocking briefly then landing a light attack doubles class and grenade regeneration for a short time, boosts sword damage by 10%, and increases mobility.

  • If you lack Sage Protector pieces, Sword Masters is a solid backup; more defensive but less synergistic with the offensive ability loop.

  • Standard mod core: Dynamo (helmet) and Distribution (class item), ideally two copies of each.

  • Dynamo and Distribution both grant super energy whenever you cast your class ability, and they stack, producing large visible chunks of Winter’s Wrath energy every rift.

  • Ballados adds another bit of super energy when you use Frost Pulse near allies, further accelerating Winter’s Wrath uptime.

  • Additional armor mods are typical PvE picks (resistance, ammo, and stat mods), but the key is keeping the Dynamo/Distribution core intact.

  • Stat priorities: maximize Super‑related stats to get Winter’s Wrath as often as possible, assisted by Dynamo rather than super‑specific mods.

  • Realistically you’ll end up around 140–150 in your super stat total from armor.

  • Next, push Grenade and Class Ability stats to at least 70, ideally around 100, to support constant Bleak Watcher turrets and rifts.

Playstyle Summary

  • Constantly cast Healing Rift with Frost Pulse to freeze enemies, generate Frost Armor, gain super energy, and enable Ballados Wrathweavers.

  • Use Glacier Grenade primarily to feed Bleak Watcher for long‑lasting crowd control; throw it raw only when you need extra burst shatter damage.

  • Swing and block with Praxic Blade to trigger Sage Protector, spread weaken, slow enemies, and fuel Whisper of Refraction for more class energy.

  • Maintain a void overshield via High Tyrant kills to enable Singularity Blade, Void Infestation, and Power From Pain, gaining weaken and Devour on top of Stasis control.

  • Activate Winter’s Wrath frequently and use the instant‑shatter technique to maximize damage while continuously granting allies Stasis Surges and Frost Armor.

  • Overall loop: freeze, slow, shatter, and weaken everything while staying nearly unkillable behind 50% Frost Armor DR, Healing Rift, and Hyperblade blocking.

Action Items

  • Equip Ballados Wrathweavers, Frost Pulse, Bleak Watcher, Healing Rift, and the four key Whisper fragments: Refraction, Durance, Fissures, and Rime.

  • Use Praxic Blade with Hyperblade catalyst and run Sage Protector armor (4‑piece if possible); substitute Sword Masters only if Sage Protector is unavailable.

  • Run High Tyrant pulse rifle with Repulsor Brace + Withering Gaze and set up Singularity Blade, Void Infestation, and Power From Pain mods for weaken and Devour.

  • Install two Dynamo and two Distribution mods to turbo‑charge Winter’s Wrath energy generation.

  • Practice the Winter’s Wrath instant‑shatter timing until it becomes muscle memory for optimal super DPS and team support.

So realistically how often is it you see Stasis Warlock used? I think pretty much all the other Warlock subclasses surpass it by a decent margin, but that is no more. I'm being 100% serious here when I say this has potential to be one of the best builds not only just in one or two activities but the whole game.

and it's making great use of Ballados Wrathweavers, an exotic which has just been kinda clowned on in the past but right now it can provide unlimited class abilities, consistent frost armor at 8 stacks and perhaps the most impressive thing of all, it makes Winter's Wrath actually good. So coming up in this build, here's what it can offer. It provides just the most crowd control of all time, A ridiculous amount of status effects going off to the point where this video might need a bright light warning.

There's also a surprise appearance from the high tyrant pulse rifle which might have sneaked in as maybe the best utility primary weapon. And of course there's even more sage protective shenanigans to make sure that Frost Pulse, one of the aspects used, is ready basically all of the time. Hopefully with this one the gameplay can speak for itself and all of it shown is at ultimate difficulty level 2 but as always I'll break down what is going on in this build.

I think a fair place to start would be Balados. This thing is now stacked. It's been quietly building up buffs over time, kinda under the radar and it needed quite a few buffs because it was complete dog shit.

And even just myself, the only reason I tried this was just to see if it was possible to maintain 8 stacks of frost armour all the time. And that is definitely possible. but it does so much more.

Of course you'll want Frost Pulse equipped, which just freezes everything around you when activating your class ability, but also now on every cast yourself and allies will be given max stacks of Frost Arm. For your allies it's likely going to be 5 stacks, but since you're on pure stasis it can be boosted to 8 with Whisper of Rime, which at this point is a 50% damage resist and lasts longer at 13 seconds. This is like also easily long enough that you can get another class ability up and refresh the duration.

Also, every time you use Frost Pulse, you'll be given Stasis Surge x2. Now, with this setup I didn't opt for Stasis Weapons, but if you do that's an extra benefit and this effect is also shared with teammates. The other half of Ballados comes into play with the Winter's Wrath super.

But, but, but Winter's Wrath also sucks, I hear you all say. This is also just not true anymore. There is a very good chance though that most people are probably using it wrong which makes it look a lot worse than it actually is. I originally saw the method of getting the most out of Winter's Wrath from Imagine, specifically this video.

This guy is like the Stasis Warlock person. If you ever need any Stasis Warlock tips, this channel is actually great. I love it.

And the play with the super is, just to not let the entire freezing section of the super cast play out, instead instantly cancel it with shatter at first opportunity. So here I am using the super the correct way. All you have to do is instantly click shatter the second you see the first freezing projectile launch. And this lets you not only cycle freeze and shatter faster, but gets a few more attacks per super. In this firing range example coming to about 32k total and 2447 DPS, which for a roaming super is really really good.

But what is Balados doing here? For each shatter it adds an extra 150% damage. This isn't a 150% overall increase though because that would actually just be insane. Shatter is one of two hits you see from the super damage. So here you can see the shatter damage is the second lower hit from the larger generic super damage hit.

With Balados this is 901 and in the same super if I take off Balados the shatter is instead 361. Oh also if you have teammates nearby they are granted 4x stasis surges and max frost armour every single time you shatter during super. And when the super finishes, you yourself are also given max frost armor. So yeah, this exotic palados actually does quite a lot now.

It's basically two exotics in one. There you go. That's just the exotic covered.

And I guess the super too. There's still a lot going on, which will be coming up next. So going into build crafting options. In this build, you will want a healing rift. You're going to have these a lot.

and every single time you cast your rift you're getting that 50% DR with Frost Armor. Having both damage resist and healing on one ability is just everything you need to survive covered in the easiest way possible. The melee honestly might as well not exist. It's nice if you need it for like a panic button but whatever it's the only option. Grenades are mainly going to be used as Bleak Watcher fuel and because of that all cooldowns are the same.

I use Glacier grenade because there are times where you want to throw it out just as a regular grenade for a bit of extra burst damage and Aspects Frost Pulse is of course a must with Barad-Dos while Bleakwatcher is the best option for when you want pure crowd control. Between these two the battlefield will be completely frozen with ease and you can just keep cycling between them at all times. Some of the cycling is done by fragments, the most important of which being Whisper of Refraction. Any slowed or frozen enemy defeated will give class ability energy.

This can be enough that if you freeze a big group of enemies with Frost Pulse, you might end up just getting a full class ability refund. These are the numbers per type of enemy defeated, but these will be a slightly higher value with a high class armour stat. Of course any enemy slowed by any method will count for this, not just the freezers from Frost Pulse, so Bleak Watcher will be always helping you out as will some upcoming weapons. Whisper of Durance is really good.

This makes the slow debuff last longer on enemies so there's less pressure to take them out quickly. That alone though wouldn't really warrant a spot. What makes this good is it increases Bleak Watcher duration from 25 to 30 seconds. making this great aspect even better. Whisper of Fissures is quite an easy pick with the amount of shatters.

This is simple, just an increase of damage of every shatter by adding another damage instance to the blast. Whisper of Rime is the easiest pick. I think this is a must have for any status build.

Increases the max frost armour stacks you can have from 5 to 8, which is a damage resist value of 50% instead of 31%. and Frost Armor always lasts longer, starting at 13 seconds instead of 9. Also, I recently hit 20k subs, so just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped here. It was my secret kind of stretch goal to hit this before the end of the year and managed it with two whole days to spare.

I don't really have anything to shill here though so maybe I'll get a few streams up sometime soon and give out some emblems and DLC codes just to celebrate but yeah just a thank you to everyone who is watching this video and also stuff in the past. Moving to weaponry it's time for the goat eye tyrant. Maybe this isn't like used the most actually in the gameplay But what this can actually provide is a bit of a game changer because you can have both Repulsor Brace and Withering Gaze.

I think this is a better setup than the fan favourite Repulsor Bracely stabilising rounds as it can provide a void overshield from just a single enemy and you don't have to worry about Volatile sniping the final blow and you just end up not getting an overshield. With a void over shield, the mod loop of singularity blade, void infestation and power from pain becomes available, which can both weaken enemies and give yourself devour, taking honestly the best parts of void and giving it to stasis, or any build you want to use this weapon on. For this to work the best, praxic blade should be used. This is hands down the best weapon, or sword I suppose in the game right now, so will come as no surprise that this goes on for pretty much anything.

But more than most places, it puts in extra work for this build. So with that void package, it can spread weaken if you have a void overshield by singularity blade. Or alternatively, you can just swing into a weakened target and then void infestation will do its part in spreading the weaken around that way. Also, a key part of this is the impact core. Since a status super is equipped, any enemy hit with Praxic Blade will be slowed, meaning Whisper Refraction can be procced with nothing but your sword.

And here is my full customisation of the Praxic Blade. Other things of note here is I really like having Hyperblade as the catalyst. The movement is pretty neat, but the amplified gain from blocking is the bigger part. This is another stacking 15% damage resist source and makes enemies less accurate against you.

In the heavy weapon slot, just do whatever you want. A good shout is another weapon with withering gaze and it can weaken enemies from quite far away. Refurbished A499 surge matches with Praxic Blade or with Solon Claw which is a sword which is also void and can roll League at edge so that has quite a bit going for it but yeah just whatever you prefer. And then because Praxic Blade is used, I think that means that Sage Protector should also be used.

This armor set effect provides class and grenade energy whenever you hit anything with a sword, which is conveniently the two things we want to spam. A 4 piece if you have it is even better. To activate this, block for a short time, then after your next light attack, the grenade and class regen is doubled for a short duration, sword damage is also increased by 10% and you get the zoomies.

If you don't have Sage Protector, especially the full 4 piece, Sword Masters is a nice alternative. It's essentially just the defensive equivalent, but I feel this is a second choice because the defensive capabilities provided by the subclass is more than adequate, so I feel like you might as well just go a bit on the offensive and get some more ability charges. With most of my Warlock builds recently, I have always opted for the Armormod combination of Dynamo and Distribution on the Helm and Class slot respectively, 2 copies of each. This build is no exception.

Both of these grant super energy on Class ability cast and stack of each other to the point where you can clearly see super chunks every single time you use Frostpaw's Rift. Oh yeah also Ballardors, a thing I forgot to mention, if you use Frost Pulse near your allies, you do also get a bit of super energy from that, why does Ballardors do like literally everything now? But just with these mods and spamming Praxic on a single target, you can just with that build up rapid supers just by popping Rift as soon as it comes off cooldown.

The other armor mods it's pretty standard stuff. I'll have them on screen and also provide a dim link in the description if you just want to copy and paste. That priority, here's what you want. Super as high as possible. Making Winter's Wrath a powerful super is actually rarely fun so you might as well try and juice this as much as possible.

Because of Dynamo this would mainly through armor stats rather than super fonts so you might have to settle at like 140-150ish. Grenade and class should both be reasonably as high as possible. You want 70, ideally 100. Yeah, there you have it.

Aces Warlock in PvE without throwing. It is possible now and it is really, really good. Probably have a few more build videos of this coming up like variations and stuff because I think this is honestly just one of the most fun setups you can use right now.

Stasis warlock has been away from the PvE side of the game for awhile, time to bring it back in a big way. And trust this one is a banger. The most crowd control of any build with a lot of tank to go with it, but without sacrificing offensive capabilities too.
